I seem to remember a NT passage in which Jesus stated that there is no need to swear an oath, because a person should be true to their word at all times. Doesn't that make the practice of swearing on a Bible for court or government appointment kind of silly?

This disturbs me so much! Its no wonder skeptics will look at us and brush us off. We act as hypocrites. Jesus said to "love your enemies", and what does the "christian" nation of america do (which has a "christian" president)? Bomb countries. Who are we to take the life of others?

And all this propaganda of pro-israel garbage. The whole idea that we must support Israel no matter what it does because they are God's people. When Israel was destroying lebanon, did God approve? I don't think so, and if you do, then you worship a god of war, not love! Come on christians, its time to change our actions and attitudes.....WE are the ones that make the skeptics all the more skeptical.

I don't know how to explain it very well, but I have this odd dream several night in a row telling that there will be sniper on the loose that targets major figures and celeberies. The problem is that the sniper is among the papparizie and uses some kind of projectile inside a camera. I fear if thats the case, not even the FBI will not even find him/her because nobody NOBODY ever think a papparizi has anything that's related with death, even though it is their nature to destory lives and reputations...like princess diana when papparizi had allegely chased her car until it crashed...and got away with it.

Does anyone have this feeling that something bad like this will happen someday too?

Since fundamentalists accuse Catholics of worshiping our popes, why hasn't the Catholic Church *canonized all of our popes?

*To canonize means when the Church uses the keys to formally declare a person to be a saint.

I don't want typical chick ideas. I want to get him cool toys that MEN like. He already has most of his toys. Not into tools-- those are all mine. Hates yardwork. He thinks clothes are a terrible gift. Won't wear jewelry.

I'm all out of ideas. He wants a graphing calculator to use for his University Master's project, but BLECH! I don't want to give him THAT! I only have one gift for him, and he will **really** like it, but I don't know what else to put under the tree. He loves hunting and fishing- but needs to buy his OWN stuff since it's personal. We're going to move to Hawaii, but he already has his own scuba and snorkel gear. He's a Major in the Army, but has a full life outside the office... I can't think of any great ideas of TOYS! I don't want to give practical gifts! What do men want this year?

Yeah, ok... me in a bow. Got it. But I can't put that under the tree. At least not with his parents and our 4 kids in the room. So what else you got?

There were times in my life that I was so driven toward edge, all I could think about was suicide. Fortunately I am still alive but it has been painful experiences.
I often wonder why life has to be so hard like this. If I could just lead ordinary, happy life like normal people, I would be content without rich and fame.
But there are so many things going wrong in my life such as severe depression and lust problem. They hampered my life so much despite my efforts.
I know everyone has problems. But I only wish my problems were manageable and not so debilitating. I also wonder why God even put me in this world to go through terrible pains like this in the first place.
I hope somehow God talks to me to put an end to this painful suffering called "life."
Everyday is too painful to get by when you even get verbally abused by ur own parents.
Why did God put me in this world in the first place if life is to be this unbearable? I am lost at understanding God's intentions for me.

Do they commute to a lake every weekend in the summer? Go water skiiing, swimming, boating, etc? Do some asians own fast power boats and sea doos and cigerette boats and sail boats? I guess I am just curious as to whether or not the cottage and lake trend is more of a north american thing or not. I live in Canada in southern Ontario and we all love to head to the lake in the summer to party at a nice cottage and have a few drinks on the dock etc...
