What would you call it? Mas? Merry Mas just doesn't have the same ring to it. You can't take Christ out of Christmas. No matter how much they try to commercialize it, the holiday is still a religious holiday celebrating the birth of christ. You take away everything Christmas is if you take Christ out of it.

Why would Christ be deducted from the word Christmas? Isn't Christ-Mas about the birth of Jesus Christ anyways? We are all forgetting what the true meaning of Christmas is. Christmas is not about a fat man with a beard that has a curse word as his trademark word, I mean ho ho ho? What is up with that? I personally think Santa Clause is a pimp for sure. Think about it, he's telling the elf's what to do and everything. Thats kinda suspicious to me. Well, anyways Christmas is about Jesus Christ and his sacrifice for the world. :-)

Well considering the word comes from the Roman Catholics devotion to the nativity with the original Christ's Mass celebrated on Dec. 25, I would say that it should not be taken out of it. No matter what day Christ's Mass is celebrated it still is a celebration of the incarnated Word!

Christmas is not about Christ to everyone. However, why would someone even think of changing the name? What would we call it, mas? No, even though I am not sure of the existence of God, I don't think the name should be changed. Just seems silly.

Christ was most likely born in Aug. He couldn't have been born in Dec. because the area would have been too cold in the middle east. Christmas its self was a Holiday of orgies and the slaughter of animals, or at least that's what it started as. Christians are so easily misguided. There is no need to change it as long as everyone knows its true origins.

No, because what else would you call it? You wouldn't have Christmas if you took Christ out of it. It would be ...Merry Mas...haha! Stupid! Plus, you'll never be able to take Christ out of Christmas.

If they did take "Christ" out of Christmas. We would still be left with "mas" which is short for Mass, as in a Catholic Mass.

THE U IN JESUS
Before U were thought of or time had begun,
God stuck U in the name of His Son.
And each time U pray, you'll see it's true,
You can't spell out JesUs and not include U.
You're a pretty big part of His wonderful name,
For U, He was born; that's why He came.
And His great love for U is the reason He died.
it even takes U to spell crUcified.
Isn't it thrilling and splendidly grand
He rose from the dead, with U in His plan?
The stones split away, the gold trUmpet blew,
and this word resUrrection is spelled with a U.
When JesUs left earth at His upward ascension,
He felt there was one thing He just had to mention.
"Go into the world and tell them it's true
That I love them all - Just like I love U."
So many great people are spelled with a U,
Don't they have a right to know JesUs too?
It all depends now on what U will do,
He'd like them to know,
But it all starts with U.
When Jesus died on the cross he was thinking of you!

I'm with you. What would be the point? In fact, I totally believe in keeping "Christ" in "Christ"-mas. And I don't just mean in the word "Christmas".
