Learning everything about evolution is like getting a Phd. Creationism can be taught in one hour. I would say creationism takes more faith because there is less evidence for it.

believers want desperately for science to be inferior or at least as suspect as faith is - it's one way they protect a fragile faith-based belief

If you actually study the scientific facts of evolution, you find there aren't any. Most of it is just theory repeated so often that people assume it's true, include some otherwise well educated people. There are DNA links between spices, but that just shows God was smart enough to re-use things like any good designer. There is also quiet a bit of good scientific evidence for intelligent design.

Either theory takes at least some faith. No of this is going to change your mind, nor should it. Your mind should be changed by doing you own research. I did.

certain that is faith depending no its not remotely shown enable me clarify. lets commence including your social gathering's the concept of gravitation is a concept not because we gained't tutor that gravity occurs-your on the floor aren’t you, yet why it is the case- Does it artwork the way Einstein theorized or the way Newton suggested or some opposite direction for this reason the concept section. Plate tectonics-earthquakes, continental drift can and has been measured. Atoms exist that’s no concept must be suggested Evolution itself can not be suggested in besides. some examples I suggested like dogs or bacteria are mistaken. enable’s commence with dogs. dogs were chop up into many diverse breeds with the help of human help-actual yet evolution tells us that the distinct breeds might want to replace into diverse species. that couldn't the case all, dogs are dogs, each and every breed of dogs may have effectual offspring with another breed no matter if the physics do not artwork i.e. a good dane can breed healthful offspring with a Chihuahua(synthetic insemination) ugly yet healthful and able to reproducing(compared to a mule). dogs are literally not data for evolution they're good data hostile to it. bacteria strengthen resistance to drugs with the help of organic decision-actual yet there's no data that this takes position by way of an strengthen in genetic fabric that is in elementary words as probably that a lack of genetic fabric (this is ineffective in a macro-evolutionary experience) created the immunity. laboratory experiments on the evolution of antibiotic resistance in bacteria tutor that when placed decrease back right into a pool of unresistant bacteria the position the antibiotic is now not recent, the resistant bacteria are right away beaten with techniques from the bacteria that lacked resistance. So the theory that the bacteria are average genetically more advantageous effective is mistaken. the theory that existence only by twist of destiny got here about with the help of a very random and fortunate blend of crap mendacity round on earth 4 billion years in the past is faith-and unrealistic.

The only evidence for Creationism is the Bible...claims made with no criteria for testing or examination.

Once magic is accepted as an explanation, the door opens wide for all superstitions. Unfortunately, it's also easier to write things off as supernatural and not think about it anymore.

The evidence is there for evolution. Creationism involves hand waving and denial of the evidence which is physical and won't go away.

If we accept the idea that humans evolved from apes or whatever....and apes evolved from stupider apes....which evolved from fish or something....which evolved from dung beetles or whatever....which evolved from plankton or something....which evolved from who-knows-what....well, eventually you have to ask what was the first living and what did it evolve from?

There had to be a first living thing, right? The first living thing could not have evolved from a previous living thing. Right?

Therefore:

1. It cannot be proved that life began through the mechanism of evolution.

2. To believe something which cannot be proved is an act of faith.

Therefore, if you think that unaided evolution is responsible for life that is by definition an act of faith. That's why creationism. Believe it or not. Take it or leave it.

Fact - humans and apes DO share similar genetic code

But to go from there to saying that we were once the same species is conjecture. Theory does not equate to truth, they are merely attempts to explain the facts. If they were the truth, they'd be impervious to all manner of testing.

Thomas Khun has shown the history of scientific process to be little more than intelligent people out-guessing each other, but guessing nonetheless.

To believe in such conjectures of these intelligent people requires a degree of faith as well. (that they guessed more correctly than the previous dude)

Undoubtedly, the conjectures of evolution are more palatable as it doesn't require us to accept the concept of God/Super-intelligent being. (which is another bug bear)

But look at it from the other direction, If you already accept the existence of God/Super-intelligent being, then creationism is the logical outflow of that belief.

Well evolution, like religion, is a theory because it cant be tested in a controlled enviornment. Religion is also the same you cant disprove it but nor can it be proven. I meen if an all powerfull being just decided to make the world so it looked like we evolved from other primates you cant sat that its impossible because you cant prove it wrong. All the sighns point to evolution and the catholic church supports it so so do I.

Evolution is researched now? I suppose you're going to say gravity isn't an anti-religion plot by the scientists next!

Evolution not what Darwin said, but it is a part of the continuum.
