Assume that you are forced under duress to join a religion you don't really believe in, and then you die. After death, you find out that the religion you were forced to join was actually correct, and only those who are members of it may enter paradise. As a member of the religion, would you be let in, or would you be rejected because you were not an honest convert?

the responses here are interesting. most christians, including those here who believe that they are going to heaven and the rest of us aren't, are in the religion for the rewards and to avoid punishment. they are not in it through free choice. this means they joined under duress. consequently they are not true christians and will be rejected when the time comes.

For one thing... there is not right or wrong religion... i believe that each religion has something in it that is correct and at the end of days God will join all of them and everything will make sense. But to answer the question... God judges the heart of the person. If you are not spiritually convicted to that religion then God will see that. Being in a religion shouldnt be like... oh your that religion so you think like this.... I dont know of one religion that everyone in it agrees with everything. The Bible is something that everyone reads and interperts it personally. God will see that and will judge you to your own personal beliefs.

Using your scenario you would be Rejected. However, I don't believe that any one organized religion has a lock on the path to paradise. There are many roads that lead there and it is ignorant and narrow minded for one group to claim that theirs is the only path.

Rejected. As it states in the Qur'an 2:256 there is no compulsion in religion. You cannot compel or force someone to believe. If you are forced to say you believe, you don't really believe in your heart, and God knows it.

Sure because you obviously have abandoned your old religion. The true Christians didn't switch but rather became torches for Ceasar or lion food in the colosseum.

I'd be rejected as a dishonest convert.
It's hard to change what you believe when you already have your set ideas and beliefs about how things are. Easy to take in new information and learn from it, but hard to change fundamental beliefs.

My guess is only honest converts, in fact I am not sure that some think they are converts but are not, and there inheritance seems very iffy to me.

My answer is that i think even though you enter heaven God has already predestined where u r suppose to be. this is based on eternal assurance based on appointment. you rather be chosen better working for it because you have a chance of losing it, eternal uncertainty based on merit.
