My wife and I will be hosting a Christmas Party the evening before Christmas Eve as we have for the past several years, and are in the process of finalizing our invitations.

The tradition of the party originally started with my wife and my mother-in-law while they lived together, and since our marriage, my wife and I have taken over as hosts and organizers.

My question is whose name should be listed first for RSVP purposes, since my wife and I invite several of our friends, and my mother-in-law invites several of hers. My initial conclusion was that since my wife and I host and pay for the party, that our name should come first and then my mother-in-law's.

However, my mother-in-law see's herself as and insists that she is the senior matriarch of the family, and even though it is not in her home, nor does she pay for any of the expenses for the party, that she should have her name headline the invitation.

For argument's sake, who should be listed first?

Ya know, in real life. Let's say you're a person of ohh... Christianity (just as an exmaple) and you're pretty hardcore. When meeting someone you know is an athiest, do you look at them differently? As if they're some sort of 'fool'? Do you have assumptions that they're just generally a bad person?

And likewise for those hardcore atheists.

Christ was born to Mary because she was chosen by God to bear the Son of Man. Mary, however, was about 14 at the time, unmarried, and betrothed to a man who was NOT her baby's daddy. A little further back in Mary's family lineage is Rahab, who is, according to Joshua, a whore. David and Solomon were both polygamists. So, in other words, Jesus' family was pretty much the DEFINITION of dysfunction.

Christ's birth was more than miraculous. If the Jews had done what the Old Testament had told them to do in these situations, they would have stoned the pregnant Mary and killed Jesus in the womb.

When we think about Christ, we should think about what He overcame to get here instead of taking on HIS job of judging what we CLEARLY don't understand, don't you think?

In my previous questions, I have talked about the evidence a christian might have for believing in God. This will address the concept that unbelievers(atheists, evolutionists, agnostics, and other "logic"based folks) need faith as well. And that it is not simply an excuse to throw away our brains.
I have heard it being said more than once that "faith is a crutch" and that "believing we did not evolve from other animals is like denying the existence of gravity." But here is the question. What causes gravity? You might say gravitrons, but do you really know? Or are you taking it on faith until someone finds out? Here's another one. Where did life come from? Space or primordial earth? If it is more than faith, you should know for a fact right? All I have heard is heresay both ways. In fact it is a hotly contested question between evolutionists. What caused the Big Bang to go boom when the vacuum of space did not even exist? Don't really know that stuff? That's ok. Take it on faith.

Last Febuary my husband lost his job. It took him about 2 months to get the position that he is in now. Durring that time we had to use credit cards to pay our bills. Now they keep on calling because we currently don't have the money to pay them. My husband barly makes enough to pay the mortgage, $380/month, car insurance, $150/month, and our loans, 175/month. Each month I struggle to pay the bills, take care of our two boys, 2 and 2 months, and pay for gas and food.

Do you think that Christian, Jewish, and Muslim people will ever get along again like they used to in the city of Toledo in the area of Granada Spain in the past? That city used to be the intellectual capital of the world with the three groups working together in the scientific, mathematical, and literary fields.

Yes they did have a few quarrels for the implementation of the current number system we use which the Arabic Muslims created by combining the Decimal system from India and the Roman Numeral system and adding the number Zero. The Christians were against this because they didn't like the idea of a number that could mean nothing by itself and something at the same time when added to the end of another number such as ten.

But otherwise do you feel they could ever work together again or do you feel that they hate each other too much to work together and can not put aside their differences.

Do you think there is a modern day intellectual capital that they are a part of?

I've learned that God only came to one group of people. The same people who started the farming in the Fertile Crescent. The people who have spread all over the world. The people who have taken the simple life they had for granted, and wanted power. The people who think that this world is theirs to conquer. The people who are us.

I'm sure that those farmers in the Fertile Crescent were not the only people around. There were several other thousands of groups of people all around the world, and God only came to them. Why? Does that make sense to you? If God is all-loving then why did he only choose one group of people to come to?

Not only did he choose a single group, but he did not choose wisely. These people thought that they had the one right way to live, when in fact there is no such thing. There is no right way to live. Humans don't come with an instruction manual on how to live their life when they are born.

So back to my original question, Why did he choose us?

Because I assumed that he was mentally disabled.
Basically, this menatlly disabled fellow usually comes down on my property and rips back and forth on his dirtbike right in front of my house. I usually go up and confront him in a nice way to leave (becaus he is sensitive and cries) and then he leaves.
However, today I saw the same red dirtbike (or so I thought) ripping back and forth. I conronted him, thinking that he was the mentally disabled guy. So, trying to make him understand in simple terms why it bugged me so much, I made "VRRRROOOM VROOOOM" noises to him and spoke to him as though he was mentally disabled. He then got VERY offended and asked me if I thought he was a retard. I honestly thought he was....but I told him "no, but if you were, there is nothing wrong with that". I was kindof embarrassed, but he was definately pissed at that point. I told him I would call the cops if he came back. Do you think I should be worried that he will come back and kill me?
