How many Christians know that Jesus is the ultimate sacrifice, and though we no longer have to sacrifice animals, ALL the other laws in the Old Testament still stand?especialy the ones in Leviticus and Deuteronomy?

Then why did Jesus tell the woman caught in Adultery Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more. Those laws where for the Jews. You need to read the rules about circumcision Paul let us Gentiles in without having to have our penises cut. Those kinds of laws would work against you. Would you really want to declare yourself unclean every time you touched a dead animal or had a period. Get real. Those were for the Old Testament Covenant. That is why we Christians have the New Testament and Jesus who died for our sins and freed us from all of those rules.

Yes Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice, and yes, we nolonger have to spill the blood of lambs or other animals. but you are wrong that ALL the other laws from the Old Testament still stand. for example, do we work on saturdays in any way (cook food, rake or mow lawns)? that was a comand in the OT, another example was that if a child was rebellious that child would be stoned to death in public, do we still have to follow that comand? you need to reread most of the laws of the OT, while there are many we should still follow, there are many more that we no longer have to follow.

Well, the whole concept of holy war is now null and void. I don't see the U.S or any western nation being the modern Isreal, in the sense of fighting God's war. Thus, I would think it far more reasonable to realize that the laws made back then, were simply done to prove the point that man can not hold to God's rules.. now the new testament was God telling mankind here's your chance to redemption through Jesus Christ.

Not all of the laws still stand - eg, the "unclean" meat one. But yeah, I knew that most of the laws still stood - even though a lot of them are just common sense! And I knew that sacrifices are no longer necessary because Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice.
It's amazing how many Christians don't understand that though...

The law still stands. Jesus did not erase the law. He made us alive again by being the ultimate sacrafice for God. The law is still there but we dont have eternal life through it but through Jesus because we have already failed in obeying the law. Making us unacceptable to God until you accept what Jesus has done for you. All who think they can just pick and choose what they want to obey from the Bible are wrong. Nowhere did Jesus say that was the case. And the law im talking about is the ten commandments.

Jesus was and is the ultimate sacrifice. Not actually all the other laws still have to be observed. No one still stones anyone for example. The wages of sin is death, not literal stoning any more. Also about what meats that can and cannot be eaten. God told Paul that everything He made is 'clean'. Generally, morally, you are correct.MayGod Bless

Yes Christ died for our sins. GO TO BIBLE COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY!!!! Okay so Leviticus dont' get me started, too late. When Christ died he tore the veil in half thus making almsot all those laws null and void. Does your dad have long hair and a long beard? If not then he is sinning, read it!!! Do you eat your steak meadium rare? Your sinning!! The verses in chapter 19 aside from keeping the sabbath, and even then that law is null because of the death of Christ, are null and void. Even the tattoos yes. Get your facts straight study your history and you won't be made to look a fool. So that being said I will say it one more time because repetetiveness helps you learn, STUDY YOUR HISTORY BEFORE SHOOTING YOUR MOUTH OFF!!!!
It is a man's honor to avoid strife but a fool is quick to quarrel.
*edit*I meant that Saturday as the sabbath is null and void... However christ did say to fellowship with one another...

Well, if all the old laws still stand, why do we play football with balls made of pigskin? Why aren't people who wear mixed fabric being struck dead? That excuse you give is a very old one. I'm presuming the laws from Deuteronomy you are referring to are the ten commandments. So, do you keep the Sabbath holy? That means that you do no work and do nothing to cause others to have to work.

I do. Many of them though weren't Laws, but were commandments, which are usually mistranslated as Laws. The deed of the commandment is done though. A lot of the things in the Old Testament were for the health of the Hebrews.
