I have great respect for those people and I would like to see more of them in person, not just in books.

Do you stand up for what you believe or do you just slam the door in their faces? Do you think it’s worth it to try to educate them or do you just let them go on their way? Or do you feel like you don't know enough to argue back and just leave it?Today I got a J-Witness to questions his beliefs..it took about a half an hour of explanation but I know the bible very very well and I also have a firm grasp on reality and history. His partner got very pissed off but I think I planted a seed in his brain. So what do you all do?

From a book,
"Humanity has never really lived up to the teaching given to it. Spiritual impression, whether conveyed by the Christ, by Krishna or by Buddha (and passed on to the masses by their disciples) has not yet been expressed as it was hoped. Men do not live up to what they already know; they fail to make practical their information; they short-circuit the light; they do not discipline themselves; greedy desire and unlawful ambition control and not the inner knowledge.

For those who believe Christ saved us, just remember that Jesus said so himself that those who are of this world will hate you because you are not of this world. You could even expect the majority of people to be opposed to Christianity because of the manacles that the devil has placed on this world. If they hate you they hate Me. Whatever people say always respond with love and integrity.

Well we're all born on this earth to live an approx 70 years before we die, and based upon our faith and actions on earth we all go to Heaven or Hell (according to believers anyway). Seeing as heaven and hell are eternal, i'm guessing earth is just this test set by God to filter the people out? And then once earth blows up that's the end of it all, and there is no longer anymore testing?

When a baby dies, do they go to Heaven or hell? They have had no time to do the test. And if it's based upon baptisim, is that fair? Because it was not to their ability to decide their faith at their age, rather that of their parents...

promotes racial harmony, yet will be the first to describe the nationalites of those in a mixed group? My point is if we are to accept all nationalities and think of ourselves as one race - the Human race - why do they continue to point out how a group (in this case the Discovery shuttle mission) is represented demographically? Furthermore, if the news media wants to take the reins and lead us into racial harmony, why report how many nationalities are a part of something. I mean, aren't we beyond needing to have that pointed out to us? It's common knowledge that with the state of transportation as it is, the world has essentially become not only a smaller place, but a culturally diverse one. It's not a big deal to me, it just seemed ironic when I was listening to the radio this morning. What are your thoughts?

My friend has just come out but he reassures us that he is just a giver and not a taker? What does this mean? I kind of thought it wouldn't be fair if only one guy has to take the shiner up the butt?

I found a christian group called christian singles domestic discipline and another one called christian domestic discipline which state that wives or girlfriends should be punished by their man. Punishments include spanking, washing their mouths out with soap, corner time, essay writing, line writing, grounding, restricting their freedoms, etc. How do you feel about this? Is this a good or bad thing?

This question is prompted by a New York Times article I won't link to because they expire and you have to pay to see the archives. The long and short of it is that protestant education and services are starting to appear with great frequency in US Correction Facilities, which are financed by taxpayers. In one prison in Iowa, prisoners in a Christian program are housed separately, in better facilities with nicer amenities. Prisoners only get to stay in the program if they make "acceptable spiritual progress". I'm not question separation of curch and state here, I'm questioning the function of religion. Does religious education like this reduce crime? Does religous sexual education reduce teen pregnancies? Does a religous education make for more moral people? Should the school voucher program apply to religous schools and should prisons have programs like this funded by taxpayers?

Personally, I'd say no on all counts, but I want to hear what you guys think.

You secretly know that there is one, so go ahead and admit it.

Name one famous guy you like and admire so much that you might consider going Gay in secret for them just so you can be with them.

A Sports guy, a Rap star, an Actor...just one name will do.

Why? Does a name really affect what you believe? What if changing a name might make others feel more welcome? Is the symbolism of a name the important thing, or is what you really feel and the actions you make based on those feelings the important thing?
