Great question...I had wondered about that as well. The Bible teaches that God is a God of mercy and love, and that He desires all people to be saved. The Bible also teaches that no one can be saved except through the name of Jesus Christ..BUT...that no one can come to Jesus Christ on their own...they must be led to Him by the Father. So, that raises this question...what happens to the billions of people, little children included, who God has not yet led to the knowledge of Jesus Christ? If they have died without accepting Him as their Saviour, because God has chosen not to give them a chance, how then, could God really be a loving, fair God, who desires all to be saved? The answer is actually quite simple, it is not at all what mainstreme "Christianity" teaches, but it is what the Bible really says about this subject.
First, the Bible does not teach that there is such a thing as an ever-burning hell, where the souls of people are tormented forever. The Bible we read is a translation from original Hebrew and Greek manuscripts. The word that we read as "hell" is actually translated from several different Hebrew and Greek words, and they all meant, in the original language God inspired them to be recorded, simply as the grave...death, the absence of conciousness. The concept of a place of suffering was devised by human beings to try and scare people into joining the religion they taught...they wanted the "crowds" to obey them. The Bible teaches that the "soul who sins shall die", and that eternal life is the "gift of God". Eternal life is not something that we already posses. The word translated as soul from the Hebrew is also used to describe animal life. It simply means a living being..not an immortal part of us. Jesus Christ taught that only the righteous would inherit eternal life, but that the wicked (those who have refused to follow the ways of God once He does give a person that understanding) would be sent away into everlasting punishment...not everlasting punishing! If one is going to be tormented in a fiery hell forever, they would still have to be given the gift of eternal life, to live forever in that place of torture. But Chirst clearly taught that only the righteous would be given the gift of eternal life...and no one found righteous in the eyes of the Creator would be sent to a fiery hell...even if such a place did exist!
The awsome truth taught in the Bible about what happens to the billions of human beings who have died without ever believing in, accpeting, or those who lived long before Christ ever came to this earth as a human being and have never even heard of His name can be found in the book of Revelation. It is called the "White Throne Judgment". It is the yet future time when the true God of the Bible will resurrect every human being that has ever lived, children included, and will at that time grant them their first real opportunity to understand His great plan of salvation, to learn about the true Jesus Christ, and to have the chance, then, to accept the Truth and receive eternal life after a period of living the right way of life. Referring to this time, the Bible teaches that the billions of people who are given their lives back will have the "books" opened to them. The word translated books here is the same word that is translated as "Bible". The books of the Bible will finally be opened to these people, and they will be able to understand! The Bible also teaches that no human has ever gone to heaven, and that when Christ returns to this earth at the end of the age, to establish His Kingdom and bring everlasting peace to the world, He will bring His reward with Him to give to those (who have already had their chance) according to their works...how they responded to the knowledge of the truth. Christ, and the Apostle Peter taught that no human has ever gone to heaven...not even King David, a man who God called a man after His own heart. There is a very well known teaching of Christ that for some reason is ignored, and not taken literally...although it is exactly what He, and the entire Bible teaches. "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth"! Not heaven, the earth! The "meek" (those who are humble, teachable, willing to obey God) certainly do not yet possess the earth...this is still a yet future time!
I had heard for so long about heaven and hell, and wondered if life was meerly a test, and would eventually determine where you would end up. Life is definitely used by God as a testing ground for us, a time to prepare us for eternal life...but God made us all free moral agents...we must choose to do it right once He grants us the knowledge of His ways. All will have a chance...it's just a matter of timing. The wonderful news of the Bible is that no one is, or ever will, have to suffer for ever. The Bible teaches that those who are currently dead are simply "asleep", they are in a state of unconciousness with no concept of the passage of time until they are resurrected back to life. And those who do reject the truth will not have to suffer forever either. When all humanity has finally been given their chance, God will flood the earth with fire, to make all things new (found in Revelation and elsewhere in the New Testament), and those who have denied their Creators will simply die...and will be as though they had never existed at all. A loving God would never sentance anyone to an eternity of suffering...that is a pagan concept devised by people...not God.
www.tomorrowsworld.org has much information you might find interesting as to what the Bible actually does say...and the awsome plan that the true God and Christ have for every human being! All the best!

No, I don't think this earth is really a "test" to see if we shall go to heaven or hell. I believe that God is all-knowing, so if he wanted to he could skip the entire "earth" phase and either put us in heaven or hell depending on the choices we would have made. However, I think earth is a place where we make choices so that we know WHY we are put in heaven or hell. You see, if God created us straight in hell because we would have been a mass murderer, then we could have told God, "Why am I here? I never actually killed anyone". Essentially, we'd be able to claim ignorance. But since we go through the earth cycle, in the afterlife we cannot tell God "I was perfect" or whatever because we'll know what we did right and wrong. So in short, earth isn't a place where God find out who is the righteous and the wicked, but instead a place where we find for ourselves why we deserve our eternal destination.
And since children are ignorant, that is, they are incapable of figuring things out on their own, God won't condemn someone who never had a chance to follow him.

Its all a test, babies who die get recycled, for another chance at it, people don't like to hear about hell. But I'm here to tell you that if Jesus is not your Lord and Savior, you are on your way to hell. Some of you will be upset at this bad news. You think that I'm all gloom and doom. Tell me this...if your house were on fire, would you want me to let you know? Of course you would. You'd probably thank me for telling you. Well, if you go to hell, YOU will be the one on fire.
Hell may not be a politically correct topic these days, but many people enter hell everyday. Out of the 120,000 people that die everyday, most end up in hell. Hell is a real place despite the fact that people laugh and say that they want to go there. They simply don't understand how terrible hell is. Just because you've never seen hell doesn't mean it doesn't exist. We have a searing, accurate description of what hell is like in God's word. Hell is awful and if you don't believe in Jesus, you'd better get on the stick or else that's going to be your eternal destination.

Baptisms do not save, being good does not save.
yes its kinda like a test since we are all born into a sinful nature.... dont believe that? Just look at a toddler. He will hit, grab, punch, yell to get a toy he wants. where does that come from?
Acts 4:10-12
10 let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole. 11 This is the ‘stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’ 12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
The New King James Version, (Nashville, TN: Thomas Nelson Publishers) 1998, c1982.
Romans 3:23
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
children will not go to hell because they do not understand gods law.(romans 7)

We have to be worthy to enter into Eternal Life as we will be reigning with Christ over other creatures!
Revelation 5:10 (KJV)
And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall REIGN on the earth.
Revelation 20:6 (KJV)
Blessed and holy [is] he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall REIGN with him a thousand years.
Kings can't reign over each other right..?

f\First of all, this world is a preparation place to decide our fate which lies in our own hands. We choose whether we want to be with God or Satan in Eternity. Second, babies are innocent of any wrongdoing and there is no need to baptize them or any such thing like that, since they have no sin. They go to be with God when they die to the same place Jesus went when he died.

More like a test to get into the next world. Remember the earth will pass away but a new, perfect one will be made.

us getting into heaven is based on wheather or not we have called upon Jesus and asked him to be our Lord and saviour.LORD and savior.meaning that we have to put our faith in him and do his will.that is how one enters heaven.on the subject of weather or not babies go to heaven it is my belief that it depends on the parents.if a baby dies and at least one of the parents is saved that baby goes to heaven,if neither of the parents are saved then the baby goes to hell.that's just my thought.

It's a test but it's open book and the reward is rebirth. But get this, everybody gets reborn and NOBODY gets to bring the crap with them from one life to the next (except the Dalai Lama).
