Do you stand up for what you believe or do you just slam the door in their faces? Do you think it’s worth it to try to educate them or do you just let them go on their way? Or do you feel like you don't know enough to argue back and just leave it?Today I got a J-Witness to questions his beliefs..it took about a half an hour of explanation but I know the bible very very well and I also have a firm grasp on reality and history. His partner got very pissed off but I think I planted a seed in his brain. So what do you all do?

His partner claimed that I was speaking for the devil and he told his friend that because the devil is very wise he knows the bible. It was utterly insane...I asked them why they didn't believe in Zeus or Allah or Buddah or Ra...and they said that they don't believe in thoes gods....well I simply said..I just go one god further.

I just say, "Sorry, I don't speak English" or "Get real jobs" and close the door. lol

I like learning about religion. But I'll do so in a course about it. I don't appreciate being cornered at my house.

I'm Agnostic though.

It is true that *EVERY* active Jehovah's Witness shares in the house-to-house ministry, and it is also true that some of them are more experienced, knowledgeable, and patient than others. To be fair, however, it remains unclear to what extent and just why one of the two volunteer ministers seemed to 'question his beliefs' to this questioner's perception.

Perhaps he was frustrated at his own inability to reach the questioner with bible truth, perhaps he was rattled by the questioner's tone or body language or insistence on skipping from topic to topic, or perhaps he was merely dealing with some medical condition.

All things considered, however, the bible is God's Word. There can be no excuse for those who do not work to preach the bible's Good News to others, since Jesus Christ himself commanded it. In fact, the preaching work makes it clear that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are by far the most prominent followers of Christ:

(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded

My parents r JW's and I can tell u now u didn't make him question his beliefs. Jehovah's Wittiness go from door to door because Jesus commanded them to do it. They r not bad ppl just ask them to leave and they will. My parents go from door to door but if they r asked to leave they go right away, they don't stand there and argue. When I was growing up my parents were atheists. I believe in god and I also believe in what the JW's believe in , I just like my life the way it is and choose not to go to their kingdom hall ( church ).

first place. a Jehovah Witness would not get pissed off as you say. we don't worship allah, that is a false god. if you come to the door nude, you will be the stupid one. I guess if Jesus came to your door, you would turn him away also. we do what Jesus commanded us to do at Matthew 28 verse 19 and 20. Jesus said they hated him and they would hate us. so people can say nasty things about us but we know that Jehovah and Jesus loves all the witnesses because we do what is commanded. no one can change your religion. we give free bible studies. www.watchtower.org.. if you are not interested and don't want us at your door, have the witness put your name on the do not call list or call the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness. they will not come to your door for two years and then they will come back because you may move and the next person may want to learn about Jehovah and Jesus Christ

I reserve my questioning of others faith for the time that I choose, not during the moments they come knocking on my door. I want to do nothing at all that promotes their continued invasions of privacy, and if I had my way, such door-to-door solicitations of any kind (other than on Halloween) would be illegal.

I live across the street from a Baptist minister, and I am enduringly grateful that he has never once even asked me to attend his church. Of course, my car also displays a bumper sticker declaring "I refuse to believe in any god that endorses war, murder, or Pat Robertson." Maybe he's gotten the message.

Yes, that used to be my philosophical stretching exercise on Sundays for years. And it was easy to get them picking at each other as you point out. This all came to an end when my wife decided there were better ways to spend our free mornings. She also objected that it was too much like shooting fish in a barrel.

I just talk to them. I'm interested in people's religions, so I usually want to know what their personal reason is for following it. So long as they actually have one, I feel no need to sway them from it. They're not hurting me by believing what they do.

I am not an atheist, but when any people came to my door to tell me what they think I should or should not believe I just tell them I am not interested and that I have things I need to do in the house.

I'm not an athiest but I don't like other people trying to shove their belief down my throat so when these jokers show up I act like I'm just leaving and aske them to come back tomorrow. Of course, I'm never there tomorrow :)

I'm not an atheist, but I am against people coming to my house to try to push their religion on me. I have a set of questions I ask them, thank them for their time, then shut the door.
