My friend has just come out but he reassures us that he is just a giver and not a taker? What does this mean? I kind of thought it wouldn't be fair if only one guy has to take the shiner up the butt?

No, I find it odd that he has to reassure us about that type of thing. I could care less. I just don't think it is fair to the other guy.

That he is a giver and not a taker could also be stated as he is a pitcher and not a catcher. In the easiest terms for straight people to understand...your friend is the "man" and his partner(s) is the woman. It's perfectly okay for him to be what is known in the gay community as a "top" only as long as his partner(s) are agreeable with that. Don't worry about him not having much money. If he is a great top, he doesn't need money he will have no trouble landing a boyfriend.

"the shiner?" my you two really do have the vocabulary don't you?

He's a Top then and the guys he likes are called Bottoms. People who like both are Versatile. Your friend just cut his chances for a date by ALOT by not being versatile, but hey, the World takes all kinds doesn't it? There are plenty of Bottoms out there looking for Mr. Right.

His sexual role is a top and that means he only ***** guys. nothing wrong with that cause you have some guys who only bottom/takers and then you have versatile men who take turns f*cking each other. Him having to reassure you that he doesn't take a penis up the anal makes it seem like there's something wrong in being bottom.

Some idiots think being a top "giver" makes them less gay.

He'll get over it in time.

Well you already know what it means because you said it in your question. But honestly, its a personal choice. If both parties are okay with it, then who cares if it is "fair" to someone elses standards?

You speak as if "receiving" can not be pleasurable for a male. Believe me, there are plenty of girls out there that know darn well why some guys might like it. Though, i wouldn't know anything about that...seriously..

This means he's a top.
There are tops
There are bottoms
And there are versatile people.
It's not about being fair, It's about preference.

some people like it like that. Some like to give and others to receive. Some switch off. It all depends on the people.
