Christians never did. Sacrificial burnt offerings were used as a way to mask the sins of the Jewish people not absolve them of their sins. When Jesus gave his body as a sacrifice for all sins forever states that we don't need to anymore. God doesn't remember our sins anymore.

It is not necessary to make offerings in this way to God. Jesus was the final and perfect sacrifice. He paid the debt of sins in full. The animal sacrifices just covered a sin and had to be repeated each time the sin was committed. When Jesus died on the cross that ended the sacrifices forever Forgiveness of sins was done once and for all time. Christ bridge the gap between God and man..All the sacrifices in the OT are a foreshadowing of the Chirst to come. All throughout the OT it points to the coming of the Messiah.Go to www.ttb.org this is a bible study that goes through the bible in 5yrs. Right now he is teaching in the book of Leviticus which is all about animal sacrifices, you will get a good understanding of what it all means.

The writer of the Book of Herbrews answered your question like this. He said animal sacrifices could not cleanse the consciences of those who offered them, but Christ was a better and pleasing sacrifice to God, who did not have to offer himself over and over as animal sacrifices were offered. He suffered for sin once.
Also, the temple in Jerusalem was the only place where animal sacrifices had been designated as acceptable, although some other places were used (but that was not pleasing to God). Also there is a mosque called the Dome of the Rock located on the site of the Jewish temple. It that mosque were to be destroyed to build another temple for the Jews, it would probably mean war between the Jews and the Muslims.

Christians were never told to sacrifice animals. Christian only became a belief after Christ gave his life as the Perfect Sacrifice (lamb of God). He brought about the new covenant which allowed for gentiles (christians, etc.) to be able to get into heaven as well as the jews who had followed the laws of moses before him. That is why we have no further need of animal sacrifice. The ultimate one was made in Jesus and we are washed by the blood of the Lamb. He is our sacrificial offering for all time.

Because Jesus came and he was the one offering- the one sin offering so that those who believe will have forgiveness through Him, be redeemed- no longer is a sin offering needed, for Jesus shed HIS blood- more than enough blood to save every single person in the world....even though many will reject Him. Jesus is our one sacrifice for sin. Now the Lord wants us to offer a sacrifice of praise! For we have a New Covenant with Him!
Hebrews 9:22
Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.
Romans 5:8 "But God demonstrated His own love towards us in that while we were sinners Christ died for us"
Now we must put our faith in HIM- it is by grace and faith alone we are saved- not of works lest any man should boast- Ephesians 2:8

God never had pleasure in burnt offerings
Hbr 10:4 For [it is] not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
Hbr 10:5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hbr 10:8 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and [offering] for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure [therein]; which are offered by the law;
Jesus had to die, this was prophersized in the old testasment and fullfilled in the new. Jesus fullfilled the Law and you have to do the same thing to be saved. Jesus is already saved and he is the only one that is saved, The sacrafice of bulls and goats ceased when Jesus died and the curtain ripped in twain.

Christians have never made animal offerings. In the New Testament it teaches against such a thing. Christians believe that Jesus Christ was the perfect and final sacrifice. All other sacrifices that came before prefigured this perfect sacrifice.

No. first of all, cats and dogs are not kosher. basically kosher animals have been sacrificed because of the fact the sacrifice became into surely a fashion of slaughtering animals to devour. existence is considered holy and the taking of the existence of an animal became into to not be executed gently. The dominant branches of judaism have not performed sacrifices because of the fact the destruction of the 2d temple. The exception to this may well be a holiday called kapparot, that could contain the sacrifice of a chicken, however some jews purely burn faux funds somewhat and maximum secular jews have on no account heard of this holiday and supply you incredibly extraordinary looks once you tell them approximately it. some smaller communities of jews, possibly some karaite and Ethiopian jews could sacrifice a lamb each now and then, somewhat in factors of the international the place lambs are often slaughtered (and eaten) in celebration or to honor a concentrated visitor.

We don't have to make animal offering any more because Jesus the Christ came as the perfect sacrifice to cover all the sins of all humanity from that point until eternity. You only have to choose to accept the gift to reap the benefits.

Early chapters of the book of Hebrews.
Jesus came from Heaven to become the once-for-all sacrifice that the animal sacrifices were a picture of.
The animal sacrifices were to remind the people that sin was bad, and caused suffering. God wanted them to know that there was a price to be paid for rebelling against Him.
