Today at work a co-worker said, "Im not Caucasian, I'm Italian.", when the term was used in a convo. I was raised and teach my young students not to refer to people by colors. If you don't know if someone is Chinese, or Japanese you refer to them as Asian, and whatever you do don't call an African American 'colored'!

My son is 5, in Kindergarten. Generally when he brings home a page that can be colored, it is only partially done. This Kwanzaa (is it a menora?) coloring page is so thoroughly done that I know he had to have spent at least an hour coloring it.

I've noticed in recent years that public schools are getting more and more insane when it comes to religion. What right do they have to teach my son of a holiday completely designed to replace legitimate holy days this time of year?

If it is a holiday that is now going to be taught and embraced by our school systems, I think Christmas, Hannakuh, and any other religous holidays should also be taught to our kids. Some would say Kwanzaa is not religous but cultural. As a Christian all I see is an anti-religious stumbling block designed solely to remove focus on what really matters this time of year.

That's still murder.Right?
Why is okay when God does it.....or when he had ppl of Israel do it(like killing all in Jericho).....why does he allow some "murders" to go unpunished, even telling them to "kill everything" and yet some he doesn't?

Both believers and non-believers seem to need to put subtle digs at the other side.
Non-believers in WHAT ?
Is there an inherent difference between 'believers' and 'non-believers' ?

I'm noticing people using Jihad in non-religious contexts like

" Nancy Grace was again on her personal jihad in her interview yesterday..."
or
" The people who are elimanating trans fat in resturaunts are just on their personal jihad, next they will try to ban sugar!"

I'm wondering if anyone else noticed this LOL.

I'm an atheist. And sometimes I ask myself what would I do if I found an evidence that God indeed exists. I know I would for sure lost any interest in my life on earth. I would not care about stupid things like going out, dating, work, etc. I'd be spending 100% of my time praying, talking to God. NOT BECAUSE I THINK I'M REQUIRED TO. Simply because that's the only thing I'd be interested in. I mean come on, watching TV or communicating with the creator of the Universe who will give me eternal life full of pleasures nobody can imagine, tough choice! It's like having a choice between watching paint dry and having sex, yeah sure I could watch paint dry... No! And don't give me that "we are just mere mortals" BS, it is just another way of saying "I do not really believe". If you truly believed you would give up everything, and spend every moment of your life praying and thinking about meeting God. I know I would.

Christians believe Jesus said I am the way, the truth and the life. nobody comes to the father but by me.

Most other religions believe only theirs is the correct choice.

Now given the number of religions over the history of the world this leaves a lot more people wrong than what would be right, if any atall was to be 'right'.

So that means theres currently a lot more souls burning away in the bowels of hell than the small number of people who are now residing in heaven.

So my question is, if god loves you so much why does he send most of you to hell?

I was at a football viewing party with some "friends"...about 6 or 7 people.I met them 14 weeks ago at a bar on opening day of football season. I was the only AfricanAmerican there. A black ball player dropped the ball. We all let out groans of disappointment. One guy blurts out the N-word. It was ponderous. I never met anyone that had their verbal reflexes hot-wired to say "******" when ever a black football drops a ball. . . F-ing Ponderous.

1.But, what would you have done?
2.What would you expect out of your "friends".
3.Would this disturb you? How long would this disturb you
