My childhood friend's daughter died at 19. We are not super close, but talk twice a year. I am going to the funeral and don't know whether I should just do as the obituary says, or would they really appreciate flowers also. Does any one have any experience to help guide me? Thank you!

Seas parting, men who walk on water, and angels who bring messages to men in caves are stories that belong in the weekly world news. However a vast number of people believe in these impossible feats as fact. Is it because all of these events happened in antiquity or a golden era?

The ancient world is full of magic. The glory that was Rome, the engineering feats of the Greeks, and exactly how did those Egyptians build those pyramids with no machinery. The Human Race did some amazing things for over 3000 years and then crashed with the fall of Rome. The only social left overs are the religions and for almost a thousand years mankind worked to drag itself out of the dark ages?

Does the fact that Judaism and Christianity were founded during these times and Islam during Arabia's greatest period lay more credence to these tall tales? Does this era of human acheivement unmatched until the end of the 19th century make divine scripture, lion's dens, and resurrection more believable?

We all have dogs but the other neighbors use the yard and do not pick up the poo. I am the only one in the building with a child who may play in the yard from time to time. We take our dog in the alley in the back and side of the building.

What does it really mean to honor one's parents IF:

1. Parents do not provide for more than food, clothing, and shelter?
2. Parents provide for physical needs but verbally abuse?
3. Parents do not realize/realize but deny they psychologically manipulate and abuse?
4. Parents call children wicked/"bad" for questioning their motives or actions?

Based on the supposition that humans are humans and we all make mistakes and sin, what the heck does the commandment mean? Thanks in advance to Christians and non-chrisitians alike who reply.

Make it more difficult to believe in God? With poverty, famine, illnesses, violent crimes, war, and hate make it more difficult for people to believe in a God? As Christians, we generally see the moral decline as a fulfillment of prophecy, something that the Bible told us would happen. But for those of you that do not believe, and the numbers are rising, does it contribute to why it is hard to believe?

Hey Christians, read 1 Corinthians 13:1-7. How does that apply to how you answer people on yahoo?

Side note: are you this kind of person (Romans 2:24 & context)?
