Because growing up people hear things on the news about racismt and sexism and all that from such a young age and about how bad it is and they just pick up on the bad part, not the fact that its not their fault. also careless conversations around children can trigger things like that. Subconciously people remember so much about their childhood which turns into fears/taboos etc as an adult. How often do you find three year olds swearing just because they've heard their parents do it maybe once or twice and know it is a naughty word, just not how naughty.
And ignore the idiots saying about your spelling, they havent a clue.

I haven't done such and wouldn't do such but don't expect me to like jump into your parade and pat you on the back for indulging in your sinful living. Besides, how in the world would I know except you advertise your behavior?? I won't be asking you if you are lesbian if I met you face to face. How rude would that be? I don't ask married couples about their sex life either. You may expect me to be there for you when you are ready to leave it behind and until then I don't threaten you and only send the message that you can be free and have life more abundantly than you've ever imagined through Jesus Christ my Saviour.
P.S. Are you positive of what the lawn signs said?? Could be you mis-read them!

I tend to think that most people who have a problem are Christians, not all but most,....in which case the problem would be that it is a religious thing to them and for some reason they think they have the right to judge others when really they should be more christian like and allow "God" to make that judgment. I also think that these people are very closed minded and afraid to think anything other then what they have been trained to think. Honestly its sad that they waste so much time hating when they could be using that time to show someone they love a little affection.
I say to each their own, you do your thing and I will do mine.

Just good old plain uncomfortable with "different" people around them. Depending on their upbringing, they have this idea of utopia in their heads, and when brought up in a family that says, "homosexuals go to hell", or worse, "homosexuals should be straightened, if not, license to kill boys", then that is just what they will do when they are old.
They just don't know better.
Don't worry, it has been a long journey, but the world knows that we exist and we are here to stay. So bit by bit, they are learning to accept us.

I think because of a mixture of sexism and homophobia. Many men percieve lesbian women to be challenging their masculinity by not conforming to expected gender roles, their percieved role of a man, they want to 'put you back in your place'. This is the souce of comments like 'all lesbians are big, ugly, hairy men-haters'. Frequently spouted by big, ugly, hairy women-hating men - counter-transferrance?
Some gay men can be disrespectfull due to their sexism, use lesbians for a bit of fun, but then ditch them later as from their view you serve no role of importance.
As for us bi men, I have little idea apart from my own self as know no other bi men. But I am sure we are not innocent either.
I have worded this harshly to make my thoughts clear, I am not sure if I am right or wrong here, but these are thought I have had while trying to understand this situation before.

Because people are close minded and too ignorant to accept people's differences. There's nothing wrong with being a lesbian and you shouldn't feel ashamed of who you are, so ignore those people who discriminate against you.

sorry you are having this type of prejidism taken out on you. alot of immature people feel threatened by people that are different than they are. skin color, religion, life styles are all threatning to some people. just hold your head up and keep on going because soon they will see you are just like them in most ways. and thankfully not like them in the way they treat others. good luck and merry christmas to you and yours.
