I live in Singapore and for Christmas, my brother who I've never met before will be coming here to celebrate with us. I think he is 25 + years old. Here are some ideas I thought up: A Singapore photo frame with a picture of the family or a wallet with a picture of the family inside. What do you think I should get him? Any new ideas are welcomed. Oh and I might not know what he likes as I've never met him before. Thanks in advance and Merry Christmas to all!

If you were to attend a birthday party, and rather everyone giving the birthday person their gift... everyone gave their gifts to you instead...
How would you feel if you were the person the party was for,
and how would you feel if you was the guest that got the gifts?

Firstly, I am lesbian.
I was introduced to my future partner at our office. After some 3 years we decided to purchase a house and live together. My family were accepting,Gwen's were extremely hostile. After many years, our long service leave came due. Gwen told me to take mine as she was "feeling tired. I had a wonderful trip but was told on return that she had died of a virulent cancer. A neighbour had told the hospice Gwen's family address. When informed she was dying they refused to visit asking only to be told when she died so theycould claim the remains. This they did, burying her n a private cemetary under the words. "UNKNOWN TO GOD". This caused me and my family intense suffering. I have learned to forgive them for their treatment.
Irrespective of your possible opinions of myself and Gwenneth. what is your opinion of the treatment of a daughter who could still love them, in spite of 42 years of abuse.

In the verse in the N.T. about Judging---> it's says 'why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye but not at the one in your own eye.' And then it also says something about the plank in the eyes....something like that, but I hope you get my drift! What exactly does it mean?

I read this somewhere, where a monk was out and about and is saying, "Everywhere can be my home, but I am still looking for a home?"

As a monk they are preaching senerity, and that in their heart, home is where they religion lies. But why is this monk still asking or looking for his home?

I see many people on here (and in life in general) who act superior or better than others of a differnt faith and was wondering if they really think they are better or if it that just how they sound?
If you have any thoughts on this or think you are better than others just because of what you believe, please respond.
I believe religion is such a personal issue, there is no way I could know everything another person as gone through, to judge them better or worse off than me.

I'm not looking for any drama or anything. I believe in God, and fully support others' beliefs. We're all different. Now to the question:

I remember from somewhere that when you go to Heaven, you forget loved ones [parents, family, friends, etc] or at least forget your relation to them. And my question is, is that true? And to what degree will we forget? Like a spouse, will you see him/her and not recognize him/her at all? Because I know God wants us to love Him the most, so will he take away our love for everyone else when we get to Heaven?

It scared me you know.. to love someone like a boyfriend or a grandparent and then go to Heaven and not remember the love you had for them. All that love that was invested, just gone. I want my grandfather to remember me if I go to Heaven and see him. I'm just a confused little Christian girl...
