Good Lord , good thing I showed up all I see are accusations and words of slander by non-catholics. Now why would a non-catholic be an expert on what the Church teaches? There is so much anti-catholic propaganda out there that normally good people don't realize how bigotted they've allowed themselves to become. question your sources good people.
To the person asking the question please go to any of the websites below and begin your search on honest examination of Roman Catholicism.
The simpliest and shortest way of understanding Catholicism is study of the Christian creeds such as the following:
We believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son Our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into Hell; the third day He rose again from the dead;He ascended into Heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. Amen.
"The Apostles' Creed is so called because it is rightly considered to be a faithful summary of the apostles' faith. It is the ancient baptismal symbol of the Church of Rome. Its great authority arises from this fact: it is 'the Creed of the Roman Church, the See of Peter, the first of the apostles, to which he brought the common faith."
- from the Catechism of the Catholic Church; 194.
"This Creed is the spiritual seal, our heart's meditation and an ever-present guardian; it is, unquestionably, the treasure of our soul."
- Saint Ambrose.

First off all this is a very short space for list our beliefs.
Anyway, If you want to convert to Roman Catholicism, i think you know our beliefs, if not: dont you think is so brave to convert without knowledge?
I think is a tricky question. anyway, here is a short answer.
We believe in God.
We believe in Holy Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit are 3 different People in One Truly God.
We believe God created everything.
We believe that Jesus is God, not created but was born from Holy Mary.
We believe in Sacraments as tools for reach heaven
We believe in Life after death.
We believe your soul will live forever with God )Heaven or without him (Hell).
We beleive in saints (people who are in Heaven). We respect them (not adore them)
We believe the basis of catholicsim is based on 3 things: Magistery, Tradition & Bible.
We beleive the Pope is the representative of Jesus in earth.
Well it is just the beggining.
If you want to become Catholic the first thing is to want it sincerly and then receive the basic knowdlege and ask for the baptism..

The first three are so wrong it isn't even funny.
To learn the beliefs (which you should already know - or at least have a good understanding of) try searching a good Catholic web site:
http://www.ewtn.com
http://www.catholic.org
http://www.newadvent.org
are but three good ones.
To convert you will need to speak with a Parish Director of Adult Formation about the RCIA program. RCIA is the Rite of Chirstian Initiation for Adults. It is a class that is about 9 months long that starts in late August or early September, and ends on Holy Saturday (the day before Easter).
There is no preaching, and no "hard ball" tactics. If, at any time, you do not feel it is for you, you can walk away.
To answer one of the first three - we, Catholics, do NOT pray to the Saints because we are not worthy to go directly to God - that is just ignorance on your part. We pray to the Saints to ask them to pray with and for us to God for our intentions. It really isn't any different than you asking your friends and family to pray for you.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. I went through RCIA two years ago and have been the happiest I have ever been in my life.

Send me a mailing address and I'll send you a free Catholic Resource CD with everything you need to know about the faith.
Go to any local Catholic Church and inquire about attending "RCIA" classes, which are designed to inform potential converts about the faith. No obligation.

You can look up absolutely everything you need to know about Catholic doctrine on the New Advent website. Just type "Catholic Encyclopedia" or "New Advent" into your search engine. It has been an invaluable research tool for me!
Also try talking to some local Catholics, and start attending mass.

If you don't know the beliefs, why would you think of converting? I would think you would convert because you thought their beliefs were similar to yours.
How--Walk into a Catholic church and talk to the Priest.

Many Catholics pray to saints, because they don't believe they are worthy to approach the Holy Father on their own. Many Catholics also confess to a sinful man, rather than repenting of their sins to God directly.
Oh, yeah - and if they actually read the scriptures, they would question these very beliefs!

Roman Catholicism is a false religion, and it sure ain't Christ's church. The Catholic Church just isn't the church you want to be a part of. Also, study your Bible on the church of the Bible, and what it has to say. One more thing, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is the head of the church, NOT SOME POPE!!!!
I Corinthians 1:10-17 (KJ21, 21st Century King James Version)
10Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. 11For it hath been reported unto me about you, my brethren, by those who are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you. 12Now this I say, when every one of you saith, "I am of Paul," and "I of Apollos," and "I of Cephas," and "I of Christ": 13Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were ye baptized in the name of Paul? 14I thank God that I baptized none of you but Crispus and Gaius, 15lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name. 16And I baptized also the household of Stephanas. Besides, I know not whether I baptized any other. 17For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the Gospel, and not with the wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect.
Romans 16:16 (KJ21, 21st Century King James Version)
16Salute one another with a holy kiss. The churches of Christ salute you.

Why don't you call one of the local catholic churches and ask? You'd get more accurate answers and you wouldn't be inundated by the lies people tell on here.
