I would personally like thank the people who have been honestly helpful. But to recap my previous question, since I guess it wasn't clear:
To me, blind faith is having to accept something with little or no evidence and absolutely no proof. Talk about the Bible and all your miracles as much as you want. I can write "Joe told me he is God, and since God can't lie, you know that I'm telling the truth," which, to me, is pretty much what the Bible is. But, me just writing that, and you not being able to prove he's NOT, doesn't mean it's true. The fact is, there is no hard proof that God exists, otherwise everyone would be a Christian, and like many of you say, there never will be until its too late. Well, WHY?
I'm not saying the Bible advocates blind faith. Oh, and one more thing, would Jesus be a condensending self rightous biggot about the things I've asked tonight? Think about that before offering any more back handed insight, and you know who I'm talking to, oldguy69.

Why is it that people think they are entitiled to free everything??
You don't work?? Let us (the taxpayers) feed your family of 6 that you can't support on your own?
Can't pay rent because you can't keep a job because you can't afford daycare for your 5 kids?? Let us pay your rent, your electricity, feed your whole family and provide you with free medical insurance!! People say everyone deserves to be treated equal??
Hell no, they don't.
If you don't bust your a** every day like normal people, you don't deserve what you get. We don't get any extras. We don't have people handing us free stuff. The people who WORK, but make minimum wage, get nothing but $20.00 a month in food stamps.
I know that there are special circumstances for people who are disabled or going to school, and I am proud to live in a country that will help those people. But the able bodied and able minded should have to take care of themselves.
Am I too harsh or do you agree??
Get this, I'm a Democrat!

My understanding is that ethics is just the moral code someone lives by and that can be different for everyone. Some people think euthanasia is OK and it would be unethical to force a person to live in great pain. Others consider it to be unethical to kill someone no matter what the resons are.
So my question is, do you think there is one standard of morality that defines what is ethical or do you think ethics is just the set of morals that a person thinks is right?
I would appreciate it if you could give me the reasons why you think what you do. If you think religion defines ethics, do you think a person of a different religion that yours is unethical?

I always get out of bed on the left side of the bed even though is it on the furthest side of the room. Rather than get out on the right and go right into the bathroom or to the kitchen, I will slide over to the other side of the bed (I sleep on the right side) and walk all the way around to get to the other side. I do this getting back into bed also.

Today a conference on AIDS was held at Saddleback Church (Rick Warren's church in Orange County). It is a high profile event intended to study AIDS and take steps against it.
One of the attendees was Senator Obama from Illinois. He has a long running involvement with fighting AIDS, and is African-American.
Here is my concern - there was some stir in the Christian community about his being there because he is Pro-Choice. I am a Christian and I was disappointed to hear this because here is a great opportunity to make progress, perhaps even save lives, with a well respected national leader and we shouldn't talk to him because of his beliefs on a different issue? We shouldn't talk to and make progress with those we disagree with? He came to church with his different beliefs, and to help people with others who genuinely make a difference regarding AIDS. So who is on the wrong side of the this?
I am sure what Jesus would do - healing, on several levels.
Christians/Atheists - thoughts?

i used to be a car audio installer back in 1995-1999. i had freedom to design boxes, door panels, sub placement, amp location...whatever. for the past few years i've been a college student, going for nursing. i have a 3.43 gpa, but the nursing schools are over filled. so onwards and upwards? i can graduate in two more semesters as a counselor with my B.S. some of my profs are telling me i need to go to grad school and should pursue environmental law (the environment is my passion). the thing is is that i'm so sick of school....its really just another institutionalized business. i would hope that grad school is different than normal college, but i'm unsure how deep i should let myself get into debt. for the past week or two i've been wanting to just finish this semester out and go get a job....just about any job. but the funny thing is is that i am now 46,000 dollars in debt for education loans/expences. what should i do? damned if i do, damned if i dont. ideas?

A few men believed they were doing the will of their God. On September 11 of 2001 four planes in the skies above the United States of America were hijacked, and three were flown into buildings. Do you think the men who took those planes over praised their God?

Since then, what has happened to the believe in God

And "they dont exist" isnt an answer! C'mon live a little!

I think for hell I would be really surprised to see William booth! (salvation army founder)

And for heaven I would be really surprised if I saw Mohhamed Atta (9/11 "pilot")

Blessings,
