As others have said, double standards. Men are expected to be hypersexual and are seen as inferior if they are not. Women are stuck between a rock and a hard place, because they are also expected to be sexual, but are looked down as "dirty sluts" if they actually are sexual. They are also expected to be the submissive sex, and must always be groomed to the men's liking. Shallow beauty is paramount However, lesbian women do have the benefit of being far more socially tolerated than gay men.

What's sadly true about our culture is that it's male dominated. What the men feel tends to be what is socially acceptable. So please, take a stand. Defy male-dominated gender norms. Do what you feel and live how you'd like. Don't let mysogynistic homophobic hypermasculinized, ultimately fearful men hold you back.

There are lots of generalizations about "the way men are" and the "way women should behave". Basically, the prejudice has been that guys are allowed (and expected) to be more sexually assertive than women. And if either group doesn't behave in the way that American society believes they should, there are self-righteous people ready to put the rebels in their place. Or try to!

I don't follow our culture's base standards of morals. There was only one mate for Eve and one for Adam. How simple can that be? In the beginning this was how God made it and His ideal. Think of all the jealous murders that could have been prevented if people would remain faithful to their God-given spouse?

As I see it:
Men are expected to be hypersexual, women are expected to at least pretend to be uninterested unless it's with the "right one."
