Based of the answers to the Q: If god appeared to you and told you to kill the person you love the most as proof of your faith, would you?
The most famous case is the story of Abraham and Isaac Genesis 22, but there is also various times where the children if Israel must kill their own such as with Achan in Joshua 7, and with the daughters of Moab in Numbers 25, and we cant forget about the false prophets in Deuteronomy 13. Also if you want to say God changed since then, explain to me how that could be if Hebrews 13:8 is true (Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.) along with Colossians 2:9

Okay, first off, I'm a girl if you can't tell by my avatar. Anyway, I'm not sure if I'm straight, bisexual, or gay. I know that for a fact I'm attracted to guys, who I think about like non-stop. When I do fantasize about guys I get sexually aroused. I guess you could say that I'm attracted to girls in a way. I know that I look at them as I would a guy, even in a sexual way at times. But when I fantasize about girls, I don't get aroused. When I was younger I experimented a lot, mainly with girls. A lot of the times I just did it for the fun of it but now I'm confused.

11Th cent..most excellent man! A prodigy from all accounts who made significant contributions to physics, mathematics and medicine, but foremost to philosophy and religion. He subsumed the works of Plato and Aristotle and even anticipated Aquinas. He attempted to reconcile both. Perhaps pope ratzinger should quote him instead..were he alive today, would there be such a distressing rift between Islam and Judeo-Christianity?

Why do some Christians say the Bible was written by God and other Christians it written by people? I noticed that some say it is all true because it was written by god and others say it was written by people which resulted in it's contradictory teachings.

I was born Catholic and went to catholic school for 12 years. I pretty much agree with most of what they were teaching. I may not have followed it but i did understand it. Now that I came to collge, there are a lot of things that I disagree with. What should I make of that? I believe in God but I have trouble relating to one religion. Is that a bad thing? I will give it one more try. The issue here is not who won the struggle, Jesus or devil, but the temptation itself. What is temptetion - devil is trying to take advantage of somebody's weakness or sinful nature. If I am not an alchoholic, you can not tempt me with liquor, if I am not materialistic person, you can not tempt me with money. But Jesus was tempted. If devil was not able to tempt him - then we can say he did not have any weeknesses or any sinful nature, but he was tempted and struggle with it. You only struggle if there is a problem or sin, if you have no problems you would never have to struggle with teptations.
