Why is it that people think they are entitiled to free everything??
You don't work?? Let us (the taxpayers) feed your family of 6 that you can't support on your own?
Can't pay rent because you can't keep a job because you can't afford daycare for your 5 kids?? Let us pay your rent, your electricity, feed your whole family and provide you with free medical insurance!! People say everyone deserves to be treated equal??
Hell no, they don't.
If you don't bust your a** every day like normal people, you don't deserve what you get. We don't get any extras. We don't have people handing us free stuff. The people who WORK, but make minimum wage, get nothing but $20.00 a month in food stamps.
I know that there are special circumstances for people who are disabled or going to school, and I am proud to live in a country that will help those people. But the able bodied and able minded should have to take care of themselves.
Am I too harsh or do you agree??
Get this, I'm a Democrat!

I saw a different point in your question than the other answers have pointed out thus far. I have had a similar complaint as far as, when you do work and are on food stamps. The minute your hours go up, they cut your food stamps, so instead of being able to use the extra money, (from the extra hours,) on building yourself up a little, you have to spend it on the food you would normally have covered. But the people who arent working and just suck up the help without caring...well, that kind of thing just doesnt effect them.

you know the only foundation or cause that I give to is the Rolandofgilead is cool fund. It's a great organization and it has been in operation for 25 years. Won't you help us out? Nah...:) Just joking. I agree wih you with the caveat of extenuating circumstances..I know you mentioned the disabled and those going to school but I will go further and say we should help those down on their luck to a point. But yeah...if the person is not trying and is abusing the system..no more help. equal opportunity..not handout for doing nothing.

I agree for the most part
We here in Michigan are facing a unemployment crisis with the big 3 laying off strong able bodied people who NEVER would have used food stamps in the past
I have seen a HUGE increase in FS use in our stores
and yes, about 50-60% dont seem to need them or deserve them

Some people do take advantage of the system. But other people really do need it. I'm sorry though that you feel a person should starve and not have a place to live because they can't pay for daycare for their kids. That's real great.

I'm a democrat and I agree. I don't know what to do about it. Can't just throw families out on their a**es. Taxes are so high and they seem to go nowhere. Traffic Jams everywhere, Space program deteriorating, Neworleans still in shambles, 3rd world quality educational system. Whats it being wasted on I wonder? I think I want to marry you bye the way.

I'm sure you would not be singing the same song if it was you in those situations. Hard times can happen to anyone. Stop looking down on people, because those people could be you just as easily.

Oooh yesssss.
I agree wholeheartedly with you.
A person should work for what they want. NOTHING in life is free, except love, and then the relationship has to be worked on.

hi, someone has to pay for those thousands and thousands AND thousands and thousands, AND thousands and thousands AND thousands and thousands AND thousands and thousands, AND thousands and thousands of peoples funds for those fat assessments that keep John Cena and the great tutor from ditching McMahan-o-land (AKA WWE) for the a lot nicer fertile loose variety grounds called NWA-TNA! Y'all were given the product, and the money accessible, and Vinnie Mac will pimp it for Y-O-U! And keep in ideas; pimpin' ain't undemanding!!!
