Do you know of any inventions that bear the name of their inventor?

I have heard that the sandwich was invented by the Earl of Sandwhich. Is this true?

Do you know of any common misconceptions about the inventor having the same name as an invention? I have heard that some people thing that Plato invented step children. Apparently this came about because of an episode of 'Star Trek'.?

We have reunited after being separated at an early age.It is great to see her and catch up on 35 years but she is totally 'born again' christain with all the fanaticism that implies.Last year I sent her and her kids a National geographic subscription but she declined it because it occasionally has articles on evoluttion and such and she figures I am trying to brainwash her kids.She is always trying to convert me and it is getting to the point where I FEEL LIKE GIVING UP ON HER!!

I was watching a National Geographic program about skin and how it fuunctions as an organ na dthan the program talked about skin color and how it has affected humans. The film interview several African people from Kenya and South Africa about how light skin is preferred among the mn in Africa. The coutnry has so many racsit and self-hating ads and they often show the lighter women being more appealing. sucessful, and popular. Why does racism like this still exsist? I often see this in many tv shows and movies geared towards blacks wear the lighter woman is more desired.

Are any African-Americans offended by white people giving MLK's "I Have a Dream" speech? I honestly wanted to hear some African-American opinions after a speech teacher told my friend (who is Caucasian) that she couldn't give "a black person" speech for class. I thought that that statement was incredibly racist in itself. One would think that a white person reiterating his words would be a sign of solidarity with the civil rights movement. Such concentration on petty racial details completely defeats the purpose of his speech. The speech teacher gave a different friend of mine an F for giving MLK's speech. Technically, she's not even Caucasian. She's Asian. I was livid. One of my best friends is African-American and she has absolutely no problem. She thinks it's a nice gesture. So who is right? The teacher or the students who are outraged?

and I like the idea. A lot of people support the idea of giving away free money to a complete stranger. I am a complete stranger. this guy at this job i started at ,makes me buss his table competely , i am suppose to be a hotsess and he is a server and the only time iam supposed buss a table if we are busy and we were busy so i was bussing his table but then we were dead and he wanted me to clean his table while he was sitting on his *** talking to other co- workers-i confronted him about this along with another co-worker- he is a nice guy but i felt along with the other co worker that he was taking advantage of us ,so i confronted him, i told him i dont mine doing my job as long as i am doing only what i am suppose to do

are Greek men extremely sexy? I am all of a sudden attracted to Greek men. Do they seem to have an animal magnetism? This one in particular is straight from Greece & speaks very good English, but does not understand it quite as well. I am talking about the Greek men who came over here to live and still have the accent. They, not all, (but the ones I have been around lately) do not seem to be afraid to show their tempermental side & I find it downright appealing. I have seen him lose it a little around his employees and he just seems to be a little tense, as does another Greek man I just met. Do any of you know any Greek men? Do you think they really want to get to know American women or would rather stick with Greek women. Does anybody have anything to share, anything?

To me it is about celebrating Jesus' Birthday. we also exchange presents Christmas Eve. Christmas Day I go to my nana's house and eat dinner with all of my family.
