Ah, the true meaning.....Celebrate the birth/death of Jesus. The gifts he and his father gave us: free-will, beautiful landscape, a universe that is as diverse as you and I. I think of all these things. It's more about giving than receiving, it's about family, coming together to share a moment in time, that will never come again.

My husband, my two kids, and I don't celebrate Christmas. Christmas is a pagan holiday and most Christians don't even know it. If God thought that Jesus' birthday was so important then don't you think that he would have given us a set date? His birth isn't what is so important it's that Christ gave up his life for our sins and that he rose from the dead. I was raised up to celebrate Christmas but once a true friend showed me what the Holy Bible says that was it. First off NO where in the Bible does it state when Jesus' birth was and second off it definitely WASN'T in December. Facts prove that December would have been too cold for them to walk as far as they did and to sleep on the ground. The nativity scene is fake too the wise men weren't there while Christ was a baby and it specifically states that in Matthew 2:11, ...they saw the young child... Meaning Jesus was a toddler at the time. http://www.goodnewsaboutgod.com/studies/Holidays2.html good website for other PAGAN holidays. Such as Easter, ST. Valentine's Day, Halloween, ect. God Bless.

I see so much about the pagan rituals and the incorrect date of the birth and so on and so on. But, we take this time in December, the best time of the year, to celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus, who was called Immanuel which means "God with us".
We always read the story of the birth of Jesus from the Gospel of Luke before we do any of the presents. People have argued on this sight that Jesus never told us to celebrate His birth, the truth is, He never told us not to. I say...."Joy to the world, the Lord has come! Let earth receive her King!"

Celebrating the birth of Christ and appreciating what I have. I don't mind getting a few presents (receiving and giving that is), but when Christmas gets turned into a huge commercial hype, I am not impressed.

well on christmas eve we usually have a big family gathering at my g-ma's house (my parents are divorced so thats when i get to open presants on my dads side of the family) and we have some kind of shrimp stew. before we open the presants. then we have the little kids open the presants first because well we all know they are most excited about it. then the older people open presants.. then when i go home (around 11pm) i go to sleep like everyone else in the world. and when i wake up theres presants to open and stuff like that. but then we have a big dinner at my house (for my moms side of the family) which pretty much is the same food as thanksgiving food. but yea. thats my christmas

To me, Christmas is Yule. It is a festival of Lights that celebrates the darkest day of the year. From that day forward, each day the sun is out for longer and longer. This is the 'rebirth of the sun'. The sun is seen by some to be the reborn sun god who grows up to be the husband of Mother Earth and then he dies again on Halloween.

Celebrating the arrival and birthday of the great prophet, Jesus Christ, the only prophet to live, die, and arise from the dead. Who lived briefly, to carry a message from our Creator. Because of his life and in His memory, I celebrate His Virgin birth and the miracle it brought to the world.

happy birthday Jesus.
