Honestly I don't care. However, MLK was not white, the whole purpose of his teachings was to allow blacks to be equal to whites. Why would he want a white man to take away the very thing that was supposed represent the growth of blacks. It's like having beef for thanksgiving. It just doesn't make any sense.

Did your instructor say, "Black person" speech? Ok..well MLK gave his speech in 1963 and I can see that YOUR instructor could learn alot from hearing MLK's speech, "One hundred years later, the life of the ***** is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination." So alot hasn't changed in 100 years has it. But you should tell MLK's speech, "I Have A Dream." And when you do, show the picture of Dr. King when he was standing at the Lincoln Memorial, Washington D. C. August 28th, 1963.

Your teacher is wrong. First and foremost, its not about the race of the person who wrote the speech, its is about the contents of the speech. And if that person enjoys the speech because of the words that exalt power, more power to her. It is an honor that anyone, black, white, hispanic, asian, whatever your nationality is, remembers Dr. King's message, not that he was a black man talking.

well look at this it seems that dr kings dream is not yet fulfilled. i see no problem with it but everyone has their own opinion. i dont believe or i hope she isnt racist. the teacher had probably assigned them to do a speech of people of their own race, culture or whatever. which is also wrong too oh wait maybe she is racist eh i dont know im jus trynna get by being a black man.

Mr. Martin's speech affected me greatly. Growing up in Northern Canada at the time I had never met African-Americans, but it did make me think, and it did make me hope that a better world lay ahead for all of us. I think your teacher is definately a racist, a dream is a dream and should be seen in colour.

Your teacher is a dumb a s s! I wouldn't be offended by something like that. I wonder if she would have a problem with a black person giving a speach by a white person.
