I'd like to say I would, but in the spirit of being honest, probably not.

Paying it forward is not about just freely, and might I add, irresponsibly giving away money. The whole idea is not based upson monetary donation but rather evaluating the individuals needs and concluding how that money would best suit them. Sure, anyone would like free cold hard cash, but it would not have the same effect as someone really investing their time into you and putting the funds towards something meaningful. For example, you could give a needy family the $1000 but where would it go? Probably toward bills and other expenses. But, what if they had a little girl in the family who has a bright future but no means of getting there? What you could do instead is invest that $1000 into her education. That way, even though the short term would be difficult, at least in the long run she can come back and help support the family. Get the picture? Or what about a homeless guy. He could easily take the money and buy the booze that made him homeless, the source of all this problems. By just giving money away you could contribute to their problems you see. Instead, take the money and check him into a rehab center. Get the picture?

I have never (ok in the past maybe 10 years) passed a homeless person or anyone on the street with a sign saying that they needed help without giving them money. Sometimes its only a dollar, sometimes 5 or 10, depending on what I have on me at the time. But would I give it to someone that is on a computer and obviously pays an AOL bill or some other type of server to be online. NO Probably NOT.... you arent hard up enough for me to give what I really cant afford to give anyway but do when I can.

I would definitely give up $1000 to a complete stranger. Sorry but you are not that stranger I would give $1000 to for many reasons. My reasons include that you have Internet service, a computer to access the Internet, and you sound to greedy about the whole thing. Paying it forward is not about greed but helping someone less fortunate than you. Take for instance that there are families out there who have no money available for food, clothing, transportation or shelter. I would definitely pay it forward to them because i can make a difference in there lives. We are all struggling with bills and that is part of life. My family is struggling too but i am grateful because we are healthy, have a roof over our heads and food on the table.

Yes if I had the funds to just give away $1000 I would if it felt right. I can't afford that SO I'm in the process of looking up ways to help others without a lot of money. Some of the things I already do like opening doors for people and random acts of kindness. I also donate to a childrens hospital in my city.

Paying it forward is based on the concept of a RANDOM act of kindness. Someone asking for a handout is not random. So no, I would not give you a thousand dollars. I will however, pray you find peace in your life.

Well, if you have a computer and the internet, then you probably are not bad off. Sell your computer and cancel your internet then you will have extra money.
