just got off the phone with the principal of the school I work at. (I'm a history teacher). One of my best and brightest students has suffered a terrible tragedy. Just before school started in August this girl lost her father. He was a firefighter and was killed in the line of duty. Yesterday she and her mom were in a bad car crash. Her mom was killed instantly (car was apparently t-boned on the driver's side) and the girl was trapped in the car for twenty minutes before they were able to get her free. She was relatively uninjured. (Sprained wrist and bruised ribs and collar bone from the seatbelt plus some cuts). So basically this girl lost her father and has now watched her mom die. What can I say to her? She'll be living with her grandmother and they intend to keep her at her school to maintain what continuity they can. What words can I offer her in this really tough time. She's 13 and the guidance that is offered her can make or break her handling this. Any advice?

This is directed only to the cowards that run their mouths off in cyberspace because nobody knows who they really are here and they don't have to take any accountability for what they say.

Before some of you idiots run your mouths off like "Answers Addict" does, you might stop and think that there are kids on this site and just because you're anonymous in cyberspace doesn't mean you should act like a classless idiot. Use some manners and think about the fact that a child may be reading your answers! There is no reason to say anything here that you wouldn't say to somebody face to face - especially a kid. There are plenty of web sites out there for foul-mouthed perverts. I'm pretty sure this isn't one of them.

today, i had to say goodbye to a missionary who had really touched my heart and was a wonderful missionary who loved to help people. i had been an investigator for quite some time and he taught my lessons. i got his email so we could keep in touch and i could tell him about my baptism in december. after talking to him today, i knew i would probably never see him again. when he was about to leave, i gave him a hug. he seemed really weird about it. i knew there was a "no flirting" rule with missionaries, but i didn't know there was a "no hugging" rule until just a few minutes ago. i feel like an idiot. should i apologize to him by email or something?

You believe hte BIBLE is true, you believe everything I'm guessing. Now, why believe it? Would you believe the book "Alice In Wonderland?" It's literature too. Who agrees with me, this is also needed, why do people who don't believe in Jesus need to burn in hell? My teacher put "super, baby" with a star on a homework assignment that i didnt even finish. She just scribbled over the "baby" with the same pen so i could still c it. And she has a comma before baby so i think she deffinetely meant to put something after super. Is this saying something because how often does a teacher say baby toa student. Imagine a man, who in his life was a good bloke, i dunno, maybe like a hindu monk etc. Anyway might have committed a couple of sins or something. He dies, and guess what - wakes up in hell (didn't believe in jesus, sorry mate you're f cked).

Anyways, in hell he's under unimaginable torment, he burns alive every second, his flesh searing in the lake of fire etc. etc. etc. He has burnt to a crisp a billion trillion times for every sin he ever commited and this is only the beginning.

He's screaming out for jesus to forgive him and save him, but god ignores him, quoting scripture and saying - you had you're chance mate when I died for you, didn't take it, now you pay the price etc.

Right, story over. Now I'm a bit confused - I read in the bible that Jesus told a story about a man dying at the side of the road. Now in the situation above (which is supposedly happens to all non believers when they die), is god like the pharisee, the levi or the samaritan?
