When it is in fact a bunch of words thrown together by the Clergy of Rome to promote Cristianity as a religion.

There are far too many contradictions, even in the Gospels they chose to put in the Bible to make it appeal to the masses.

Where in the Ten Commandments does it mention "though shalt not be Homosexual"

My family has grown so much that we have decided to do gift exchange and draw names but the problem is that even though it is a large family we only have three families invovled. When we got to thinking about drawing names we realized that 9 out of 10 times we are going to draw our families name (like I draw my brothers name) and we don't want that to happen. It is my two grandparents, (2) my brother and family (3) my parents and sister (3) me and my husband (2) my aunt and her family (5) so there is 15 of us. Can anybody help us decide this? My mom had said something about the white elephant game but she said there are two many different ages. We don't want to do the chinese auction either. If you have any ideas that would be great. Thanks.

I’ve had a number of people here tell me that I am under Satan’s control.

Is being under Satan’s control a good thing or a bad thing?

How would I know if I were under Satan’s control?

What sort of empirical test could be run to confirm or deny this?

For example, I can't see Jesus standing next to the Pope as he tries on another bejewelled hat ("maybe give the money to the poor" he might say), or behind Bush when advocating fighting for 'peace', or on the side of capatilisim, or anything (e.g. cars/indusry) that causes environmental degredation of the planet. I see his name pretty much used to support a world that he fought so I suspect he would be toast if he came down again? Waddya reckon?

im a christian but im beginning to doubt the religeon and needed your advice. i just had a few questions that i need answered. they are:

1. how can you burn in hell if your soul does not have a physical body and nerve endings?

2. what if evolution is real? in a sense that god created the basic materials in order for evolution to happen

3. what about the people who had near death experiences and were clinicaly dead for 5-10 minutes and all reported different?

im just very confused and im beginning to doubt the whole idea itself. if you think about it, god seems very cruel. why would he burn you for all eternity just for choosing something that makes you happy, and why does he expect us to beleive his son died on the cross for our sins if alot of evidence proves something else

I think about all sorts of things when I walk around town, and one of the things that came to mind today was whether there was anything related to "Santa" south of the equatorial line? Just interested in the myth, is all. If anyone hails from "South" I"d sure like to read about your myths, or if anyone has studied it, I'd like to know.

My current boss use to work for this company in question. She also still has contacts with people that have said that certain excecutives have revieced severans packages and that they will be closing down at the end of the year. But this company is also holding a company christmas party at the end of the year with a talent show and they even have $1000 grand prize for the best performance. Nobody else in the company knows anything about them closing down. Should I worry my friends that work there and tell them I heard this rumor or let it be? I dont want to get them all worked up for nothing especially since both of my friends are living together and have a 2yr old and another on the way. They both depend on their jobs with this company. I'm not sure what to do. If I tell them and they both start looking for other jobs and lets say they do leave and the company never closes down then ill have this guilt on my head forever!

Ok lets think about this. Knowledge of ourselves knowing good and bad is a sin, and that to live of this world is a sin, which therefore makes man sinners. Now god knew that we would have many questions? And he aslo knew that those questions would have to be proven. Now if your a child as we all are what you accept is what you can see taste, and touch. If you had no parents to touch, and see, then how do you know they are there.
Because they say they are. But who answers the questions that you have as a child, usually it is the one who makes themselves known that you call your father or mother. So if god knows that this is the nature of man, then why would he not show himself?
Or does he show himself through us? Or is that he's a prankster, and we are his amusement? Just wondering

I was told that the rich man "opened his eyes" on the second resurrection. The first resurrection is said to be of the saved so that Christ can take them away. Then Christ returns 1000 years later with the saved and the unsaved are resurrected. So I was told that if there was going to be a dialogue between the saved and the lost, they would have to resurrected from the grave. To suuport this, the verse after the parable is cited:
Luke 16:31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

First of all Christians claim that:
1- Jesus was completely human and completely God
2- The one who was performing miracles (like healing) was Jesus the God not Jesus the man
3- all people in his time knew that he was God and worshiped him.

Based on these three facts... how can you explain this:

A woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, have mercy on me, O Lord, [thou] Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.

Jesus answered, I am not SENT but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Isn't that a clear proof that Jesus was just a man performing miracles by the power of God Just like all other prophets?

(note the he replied saying I was not sent, he was talking a man here)
