A question was posted earlier about the U.K making remembrance day a bank holiday. This received a couple of replies from your fellow countrymen along the lines of "when you win some wars on your own" etc etc. My question is this, ignoring the technicalities of who won the war, the fact is we lost many people in those wars. So why is it you feel the need to insert your noses into what we do in our country. Are you all that arrogant, not to mention ignorant.
My guess is that even though i have asked this in a sensible and fair way the majority of Americans will just attack me without actually answering the question.

Ok, 4 of them were on a hot air balloon, and unfortunately, the balloon's sinking over an ocean of hungry bull sharks! They removed all their items and threw it away, but they were still sinking! They finaly found out that at least one has to risk his/her life to jump off into the ocean in order for the balloon to float, and the other 3 to survive... WHO do you think would jump off?! Pls. Don't go for the obvious!

I’m Catholic. My church's Eucharistic chapel was recently desecrated. Apparently, they found herbs and chicken feathers. I don’t know any other details. Why would anyone do this?
Thank you in advance for your courtesy and explanations.

who is a convicted child molester or serial killer can be expected to change their mindset? Most of them, it has been proven through studies of crimes and criminology, commit the crimes they commit because they live outside of societal value systems and do not believe they really did anything wrong? If one said he repented and was truly sorry and promised to never do it again, would you want them to live in your neighborhood? That is stretching it for me and I consider myself a progressive thinking Christian.

I phrased a question earlier, and I did not state what my religious views are. I did not say if I believed or did not believe in god, when I asked the question. For most who have answered my questions before, you know that I am a spiritual person. Most of the time I ask questions not just from my perspective but from others as well.
So why when I ask is man competing with god, and that in this competition is what gives man incentive to be better? Why would you call me evil? Why would you assume so much of someone you do not know? You do not know my heart, and have no right to deem me as evil. Does it not say in the bible that man will judge and call you evil in my name< being god. And that as a christian you should be the salt of the earth. Do you think calling others evil is demonstrating the word of god? Just wondering

I lived in the US for a year, and yes, my english accent did get slurred and I started to lose it. I noticed that Irish people in the US never seemed to lose their accent even if they'd been living there for 20 years. All the english people I met who'd lived there more than a few years were indistinguishable from americans in their accents. Note Frasier's father in the TV series as a prime example, he's an english actor, but lost his accent long before the Frasier series started.

I would like to know your thoughts on this;
The downtown YMCA received complaints from their neighbor. The orthodox religious church/synagogue/mosque etc (I will keep which religion out of it) says that the windows facing them should be covered for they could see the "scantily clad" women working out and this was wrong.

So YMCA, being a good neighbor, changed the windows to opaque ones, thus nothing could be seen. Now both the men & women @ the Y complain for no sun light can get in and why should THEY conform to people who should not be looking there anyway. While I commend YMCA for doing the neighborly thing, many people are complaining now that they shouldn't have had to change. I don’t think they should have changed the windows

The complaints received was concerning the woman body, (cause shorts and a tank top while working out is "so" slutty) While on any hot day, these people pass far more semi-naked women on the street.

We have been married 23 years and he is a very over jealous and controlling husband. All at once he thinks we should try the swinging life style. In the 23 years we have been married we had never been out to a club or dancing. We didn't drink or party at all. I am 40 years old and this is the first time he has ever mentioned going out, much less dancing and drinking.Yes, I enjoy having a few drinks, loosening up and dancing. It is just plain fun. However he watches over me like a hawk and he is the one that always becomes flirtaious with other. He wants and tries very, very hard to have the night end with us drunk and ultimately have sex with others if he is attracted to the woman (single or married or even Bi if I would agree) He is alright having sex with a married couple as long as he chooses the couple. What I am asking is, "Why is he wanting to involve others in our sex life, knowing I do not feel the same way. Why remain married????????????
