How do you feel about Stem Cell research? GOOD? BAD?

I am writing a persuasive/argumentative paper about Stem Cell research. I wanted to get others input on how they/you feel about this.

well there is not one piece of evidence scientifically that it will do anything. They are tinkering with something that most likely prove worthless.

I feel stem cell research can be both good and bad. I do not think cloning people would be good at all and I'm totally against stem cell for this. However, I am for stem cell research for the purpose of healing illness. If you have ever watched a loved one gradually disappear from a disease such as Alzheimer's, it hurts so much. I watched Alzheimer's eat my mom's brain and it's so painful when you know you're hands are tied and there's nothing that can be done.

Ummmmm. This is tough. I find it to be GHOULISH to say the least and a bit disturbing. HOWEVER, I think it is a necessary evil, like autopsies (sit through one and you may wanna become religious after).

I wish there was a way NOT to use human embryos that are destroyed after, but find a way to harvest the stem cells AND keep baby alive (I'm assuming it cannot be harvested from aborted fetuses).

...medicine is pretty grusome.

I think that if the stem cell research worked so well why has it not proven that yet? And why wont scientists looks at environmental causes for these diseases and change that part first?

If there is a way to research and cure many diseases. Then we should defiantly do it. There are so many people that are suffering from so many things. Why would we no want to find a cure!!!!
