You are correct in many ways, but have you ever studied about "prohibition"? Legalizing and controlling currently illegal drugs would be a better way to go. But... before legalizing any drugs, we should get away from socialized medicine. I don't want to have to pay for any more addict than there currently are. Think about it for a minute, with our current system... is there any real incentive for staying healthy??? Everyone pays for their own health care, and the government makes a place for those who can't afford to pay on some remote island. Anyone too messed up on drugs to be able to make their own living gets a free ride to the island where they have to work for an existance or suffer the inevitable consequences.

etoh kills 1.2mill peeps in every yr by carwreck, dui or just by wetbrain&deliriums.
all other drugs kill 400,000 ppl. now that isnt including driving. But addiction is far worse imagine if you will/can die of your drug and it gets you high dangerous violent high, and you get on the street corner. How many families have got the beat down cuz pa' hadda bad day? How many only pot smokers beat your wives? if you answered yes in your head shame on you . Weeds the only viable and industrial and eco-sensible replacement out there under consideration. The only reson its not. Is they dont have a lungalizer, they gotta make charges like driving while bags open. Or my fave joint in reach of driver....my god yes beer ah!ite and wine but they should schedule alcohol but it would be sched 1 like heroin but CI drugs {"have no medicinal purpose it does its for" cleaning tools" heroin and marijuana are more useful than alcohol from a med. standpoint. I do not think heroin should be legalized though nor drugs that take over people you know these "powders". peaceLOL

Al Capone would just love you. That was tried once and the gangsters made out like bandits. It is also very easy to make at home. The government is not going to give up a money maker (from alcohol tax) like alcohol. They want you to drink your fool head off. I still remember my uncles basement and his bottling machine and all. No one quit drinking because of prohibition, I think they drank more.

I agree about how dangerous it is, but don't you remember the prohibition? There are too many people out there that know how to control how much they consume, and it's not always a health hazard. Would you outlaw beer, but not wine? It's just not going to happen.

In psychiatry alcohol is classified as depressant drug. I don't think it could be banned as other drugs because lawmakers can't think without drinking. LOL

Prohibition was already tried once and failed. It's too easy to manufacture and would only create a criminal element.

No, alcohol should not be illegal. It should be illegal to be drunk. Anyone found drunk in public should be jailed.
