Wasn't it sheer suicide? What's the difference between lying on train tracks and letting the Romans nail you?

John 14:12 states a follower in Jesus can perform any of his works and do it even greater. Would you mind perhaps resurrecting a dead relative or walking on water?

Or was Jesus just kidding here?

If all sins according to Christianity are equal. A sin is a sin. So, I ask you,why do gay people get bashed so much and are constantly told theyll go to hell, but you know gluttony is a sin, too. But you wont hear a Christian telling another (overweight) Christian, she/he is going to hell for being a glutton. They pick and choose whats right and whats wrong to suit there needs and sometimes say, times have changed and God knows this. Word is word.

Does this call still apply today?

What opportunites are available in your community to minister to those in prison?

If Jesus felt it was important then, it should be today as well, what do you think?

When Muslims or Jews become Christians they are usually kicked out of their family or are told they are no longer a part of the family. What is the term for this?

or doctrine you adhere to. Well, maybe not Islam, but they don't count in my 'book'.(he he) So He went through all that knowing that He'd be alive and kicking in two or three days. Sure his disciples were amazed, but according to the books, they couldn't figure out parables that small children can figure out. The books even feature this about them.
Then the books put in some very complicated stuff, stuff that causes schisms and separate churches to be formed because it is so unclear. Apparently the disciples understood those points clearly enough though.

My main question here is that He KNEW that he wasn't really going to be killed dead for ever, just a couple or three days. So it was no big thing to Him now, was it?
Secondary question about the disciples being such buffoons about simple parables and yet so wise as to complex material.. wiser than some philosophers through the millenia apparently.

All the non-believers are loaded with knowledge, trying to free your minds of useless feldercarb. Your only response is "gotta have faith" or some other mindless dribbling of scripture? Why do you think with your hearts and not your minds?

A friend of mine received two phone calls asking for her by name, from people she does not know. One of them said that he was hoping they were the same people he knew, and that he had searched on the internet to find their phone number. He was sorry that he had the wrong people, but they happened to have the same names as another couple he was looking for! His phone number showed on their caller ID. Then, she got another call last night, but it showed on the caller ID as "blocked call," and this person kept insisting she knew them. They finally got her to leave them alone, but she acted very angry that they didn't know her. Is there a new kind of identity theft that starts with using the phone number of somebody with the same name? It's creepy. What does a person do to prevent any further problem with this?

If your true intentions for religion are for the spiritual recognition of God and or Jesus, why cant you do this at home or in your mind. If you say churches are there for fellowship, then I have to question your spiritual motives

So I've lived in St. Louis all my life. I'm only 20. I'm sick and tired of rude and ignorant people. I enjoy reading books about small towns and the small town life. I like it's hospitality, generosity and the warm feeling I get when I read about them. I love country songs that tell the lives of those living in smaller towns and how it was growing up. I like how everyone knows everyone. Again this is from reading so I don't know how it REALLY is, but it sounds wonderful! Does anyone know of any small towns like this? I prefer a town in MO about an hour or two away from STL.

heres mine that i doubt though:

ok you know we are going to have hydrogen cars in the future, well then every country will start making hydrogen cars. oh yeah and they run on water instead of gasoline and use no type of oil whatsoever. they are also 100% non polluting. anyways the middle east will make no money anymore and will get very pissed. and we will also make other things run on hydrogen too, not just cars. and then the middle east will try to strike us first but then we will shoot them down. and then we will get pissed at them and so will our allies and themn there allies will hate us too. then we'll have wars everyewhere in lots of countries and then it will be considered ww3. the end.

Which bothers you more, that some are atheistic, or that some believe in God but not in Jesus as their Savior? I'm just curious - I'm not sure what the focus of the arguments are sometimes. These are 2 very different arguments.

Think about it for a second. We might think we know everything, but we kind of are our brain, so there might be things outside our imagination. For example, our minds can't comprehend what heaven looks like, and if you try, I bet you will see the same thing on a postcard.
