If your true intentions for religion are for the spiritual recognition of God and or Jesus, why cant you do this at home or in your mind. If you say churches are there for fellowship, then I have to question your spiritual motives

Folks need instructions on how to worship. God forbid they worship the wrong way and accidentally send themselves to hell!

We should all be in the one true church of God, the Church is actually in us,we house the Holy Spirit when we accept Jesus Christ into our lives, thats why they say your body in the tabernacle,
Different Churches spread throughout the lands, through the apostles and deciples teachings, Paul was a good apostle who witnessed to many, as churches started forming many had thier own ideas of how thier own church should be, what beliefs they wanted and what they didn't.
The sad thing about that is Gods word is not a cafeteria, and we cannot pick and choose what we want, and leave what we don't.
We have to take the Bible as a whole, but I'd say the modern day church should mostly be provided to provide a place for worship and fellowship, but the real church lives within us, we don't leave church when we walk out the door, God is always with us through Jesus Christ in the Holy Spirit.
God Bless, and I hope I answered your question.

There is no such thing as a lone ranger Christian. The Bible says "Forsake not the assemblying of yourselves together which is the manner of some." The purpose of this fellowship is to support one another. We are also called to love one another and serve one another. Help your brother or sister in need. We are to love our neighbor. Jesus gave an example of this in a story of a man who was robbed and left for dead on the side of the road. Two people passed without helping him. The third person stopped to help him. Jesus call this loving your neighbor. Helping others Jesus said was a form of worshipping him. How can you any of these things at home in isolation? We are called to spend time alone in worship and prayer to God but that is only a part of following Jesus.

What a ridiculous question. Why are there monastaries? Why are there schools? Why does anybody get together at all?

Churches ARE for fellowship. For anyone who believes or does not believe. The bible encourages this particular fellowship since you will most likely be surrounded by other believers.

I am thinking that Jesus told us that the kingdom of the father was in each and every one of us.

This means that He is not to be found on a far off cloud called heaven or in a building called a church.

He can only be found where Jesus predicted he would be.

For this reason we should avoid these places where people pretend God is and turn within to find Him exactly where Jesus predicted he could be found.

Unless of course you feel that brother Jesus was wrong about this.

Churches exist just because we human beings need a light or guidance. It's like a candle to light our path. i don't think there is a church that exist which tells us to go astray. i believe that they always tells us to do the right thing. whatever church or fellowship we may belong, i believe we all have a common aim to have a spiritual relationship with God.

Churches are places of worship and every week, we all show up to worship as a body of believers, to sing and dance with joy before our King.

Then afterwards, we fellowship. Go ahead and question my spiritual motives, it can withstand your scrutiny ... can yours?

Ive seen two churches put to good use. One got turned into a night club, and the other converted into apartments. Pity they don't convert alot more because most of them are standing empty anyway.

Don't join any clubs, or I'd have to question your motives for any special interests you have. I'm a sinner admitting I'm a sinner, and I celebrate the risen Lord with other sinners. And I get to join in rites that mark God's covenant with His own. Join us.

Church is a place to go to hear someone speak about something from the Bible, a place to meet other Christians who can pray with you and/or for you, and a place to worship God (oftentimes in song). I like mine very much. :o)

you can do these things everywhere, however Jesus established a church for us. to say we don't need a church is to say that what Jesus instituted was for nothing and that the apostles and early Christians were persecuted and died for nothing. outside of the gospels and revelations we clearly see the apostles and their followers establishing a unified universal(catholic) church.
