Hello. - In my opinion, there may be a slight addiction to the Internet among 5 to 80 year olds.

I do not believe age matters .. addiction is what it is.

Have a nice day. :)

No, not completely.
The internet may be very helpful when one wants or needs to look up information or buy something when they don't have anywhere else to find it. The internet also gives people a chance to talk to others and have some sort of a social life (even if it is only online). Many people would take part in more harmful activities if it wasn't for the internet. It gives many of us something to do when we have nothing else. Even if it is addictive, the internet isn't necessarily a threat. It's a way for people around the world to easily communicate and share information. It gives many of us something better to do than drugs and law breaking.

I don't know if it's a threat, but I can see the problems. I read that the Internet is lowering children's reading levels because it changes the way we read... not right to left like in books. Things are all over the page. Other problems, it apparently obscures reality for kids and adolescents, especially if they've been on for a prolonged amount of time. But I read video games can do that too. And apparently people aren't getting as much work done because they're answering emails and searching the net instead. I don't know, ups and downs.

No. The internet rocks. These kids might actually find out what's going on around the world now instead of relying on the television news media to inform them. Talk to some people from around the world, you'll see what I mean.

Internet addiction? No worse than society's addiction to television and food that clogs our arteries and kills us early. Go on, surf to your heart's content. It's better than doing drugs or having sex - at least this way you're just getting fat. You can always work it off later. An unintended pregnancy or physical drug addiction are a lot harder to shake...

At least the kids aren't going around spreading mayhem. They are doing it on line, and violent video games are NOT healthy. I do think that Internet addiction is a problem cutting across all ages, LOL! "All the lonely people" of the Beatles song are now sitting in front of their computers.

Not at all, in fact, it may be a blessing.

Before the internet, you had many teens who had no place to go, no one to talk to, and nothing better to do than cause trouble. Now, they can simply sit on the net and chat away with people and be content. Should cut down on some of the juveneil crimes anyhow.

Besides, there's never a bad thing about being social, and what better method than having the world at your fingertips?

Sure and TV is rotting our minds. Oops that was my mom's line 30 years ago. No thing in of itself is dangerous, not even a gun. It's how we interact with it that is what defines the danger.

the real danger is in favoring online relationships for real world ones, for they can never be as fullfilling

No. It's what we do to with the internet.
