Do you really think that forgiving a rapist or murderer is going to make him stop raping or murdering people? Don't be so naive.

I have an uncle who is a pedophile. He tried to molest one of my cousins. Her parents forgave him and covered up the crime. Within a year or so, he tried to molest another cousin. Her parents forgave him and covered up the crime. Within a year or so, he tried to molest another cousin. Her parents forgave him and covered up the crime. ...

After he had done this to half a dozen young girls (or more ... we'll never know for sure the real number of victims), one of them finally came forward and he is now in prison (but only for 5 years since most relatives still "forgive" him and refuse to testify about what they know).

A lifetime in jail is the only way to really make him stop. "Forgiveness" is really just ignoring the crime and giving him your blessing to victimize someone else.

What the world needs isn't more forgiveness of criminals, it's more prosecution and punishment of them.

Or I could just silently resent you, and not retaliate, that would be okay right?

Kind of like I'm doing now.

This is a statement and not a question, but I have a feeling you're feeling a bit downhearted right now. I wish you "peace and comfort" in both giving and receiving the forgiveness you speak of here.

Also true with martial arts. Using it for the purpose of violence only perpetuates more violence, therefore it can never be used for anything other than the art form that it is.

Forgiveness beats retaliation. Jesus was right.

Take a step further snoopy. Stop judging and there is nothing to forgive.

Study the course in miracles, it teaches you how to do this. It works.

Love and blessings Don.
