If you were not raised as a Christian but instead had Athiest parents who would call you for asking questions about God, were born in not a pleasant atmosphere etc would you still have found God? If you are sure of this, how?

On the flip side for Athiests, instead of saying who is God etc I ask if you were born into a Christian family, as in you as a child you believed your parents and so believed in God, would you believe in God now?

Is anybody a born again Christian? Or was once a Christian and not anymore?

For example, Halal goat meat is one which is hung upside down by one hind leg, and has it's throat slit so all (most) of its blood is drained.
It's barbaric, inhumane, and totally without merit.
Terrorism is one thing, but I guess the Muslims need to rule the animal kingdom as well.

They make me so upset because they are not a true representation of Christ. They turn people off of Christianity. They take verses in the Bible totaly out of context and they use them to proove their point. Thats not what the Bible is for.
I am a Christian but I try SOOO hard to not be like those kinds of Christians...they are a disgrace to Christianity and our Lord.

All we hear is that these criminals are just a small part of the Muslim society. We don't hear the good ones even denouncing the bad things their criminals are doing. In the long run, if the good Muslims don't correct their problem, the world will have to do it for them and many more people will be killed.

In response to the Pope's quote Al-Qaida in Iraq issued this statement, "You infidels and despots, we will continue our jihad (holy war) and never stop until God avails us to chop your necks and raise the fluttering banner of monotheism, when God's rule is established governing all people and nations."

Does their response not affirm The Pope's quote when he spoke to professors in Germany and quoted 14th-century Byzantine emperor Manuel II Paleologus.

"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached," Benedict quoted.

I'm enlisted and I've been judged over and over again for having enlisted because of the "thou shalt not kill" and someother issues. Why do others critisize me for it when there has been many holy wars over the centuries and I seriously doubt God would judge me should I be attacked and I defend myself. the commandment doesn't say "thou shalt not defend thyself". There are scriptures that say that you shouldn't judge others. And should i be in the field and one of my friends is being attacked, i'm going to protect my friend even if it means killing someone. there are scriptures that say that if you're willing to risk or give your life for a friend, that that is one of the greatest loves and is admired by God. I simply don't get what the big deal is. I'm not Infantry so i may never see warfare with my job. I don't support the war that's going on, but I do support my community and my country and after 9/11 I believe that what i'm doing is the best way to show my support.

The old Testament and the new Testament contradict each other in several passages - one prominent example:

OT - An eye for an eye, NT - turn the other cheek

or

Sacrifices were to take away sin. Num.15:24-28.
"Jesus" sacrifice took away sins. Heb.10:12; Heb.9:26-28.
Sacrifices never take away sin. Heb.10:11.
There are many more, but you get the idea. The Talamuth and Martin Luther both state that Satan can assume any form in the flesh.... so what if Jesus was not the son of God, but Satan, who gave us a new set of 'false' guidelines that contradict the old law?

Any comments?

a bed to sleep on, and FREE health care? When there are a lot of law abiding citizens who work hard for what they get, some working more than one job..And they still are struggling to have what these killers, rapists..etc....have for nothing! Some of us working people can't afford health insurance, yet when we try to get state assistance, we are told we make "too much"..Go figure. How does this seam fair? And I don't wanna hear that these convicts have rights too. Because as far as I am concerned, they gave up all rights and freedoms the day the commited thier crime.

Is this possible? Can it really be done? Is this really the one? Will we ever know? Do we really even need to know? What will we do when we finally do know? Does that even matter? What are the odds on people having their pets answer this question too? What if the most answered question isn't really even a question? Can you answer it? Is it an answer? What if the question is the answer that just appears to be a question? Yeah! I'm wondering, What are the odds?

My fiancee is in the middle of a divorce and we have a child together. I live with my mother, and he is over here at the house with me to spend time with me and the kids. I understand that it is biblically incorrect to be with a married man. He has been a good friend for a long time. My mother dislikes him for many reasons, it is not just because he is married. I understand that it is her house and I have to respect her wishes. She does not want him in the house, or even to sit outside on the porch. I have let him in the house when it has rained and when he has had to use the bathroom. I have cooked him dinner and trying to do my best to take care of him. The problem lies with the fact that my mother tells me that is wrong to try and help him out and take care of him. It is not biblical. I was told that you are to treat everyone as Jesus would. My mother says that he is not allowed in the house because he is married and because he is a sinner with spirits. Is this wrong?
