I was thinking about what the pope said. He outraged the muslim world by stating

'Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.'

Without going into the reaction from the muslim world, isn't it a bit ironic that the quotation taken from Byzantine emperor Manuel was quoted as 14th Century (the dark ages?) where insurmountable attrocities & barbarism were commited under the flag of christianity, eg

+ Pagan torture and mass genocide 6th Cent
+ Emperor Karl (Charlemagne) in 782 had 4500 Saxons, unwilling to convert to Christianity, beheaded.
+ Spanish inquisition (Spanish Inquisitor Torquemada alone allegedly responsible for 10,220 burnings.)
+ from the beginning of Christianity to 1484 probably more than several thousand 'witches' killed

So isn't that quote a little rich?

I'm not sexist or anything, but girls can't make decisions. I dont want to sit there for 10 minutes while they decide. Help me out here.

sidenote: I dont think they should vote either (in state or federal elections. Their votes should go to either their father or husband. But in all fairness, they get to choose whether its the father or husband.

I really don't want to join a group I just need to ask some questions. In light of recent events I'm finding it hard to like or trust anyone in the Arab community and it is depressing. I feel I am not a racist or anything like that and maybe I am just ignorant of the culture.

I went to Burger King and it had dirty floors and animal vomit near soda dispensing unit and wild hobo smelling like the dead insides of possum sitting with rotten cracked wart infested feet near condiment area picking his nose. Anyway, after swallowing rising vomit I ordered a Whopper with cheese and they took like 45 minutes and i sitting there while hobo keep looking at me with rape in his eyes and I scare....One of the employees came out and apologized and gave me some extra fries...they kinda burned but I said OK and smiled and she smiled...No one ever smile at me...The best customer service...I asked for her number but she declined cause she was lesbian .What about you?

People make such nasty and biting comments to other people because their is a difference of opinion. It's no wonder we have so many wars.

The worst are those cowards, without a profile so we cannot debate them(you know who you are), who "hide" behind a computer and make insulting comments.

I have no idea what i want - job wise!!! I keep changing jobs all the time. I'll start a new job and within weeks/ months i'll be bored and fed up with the job. I end up taking loads of time off, which then ends up looking bad for new jobs.
And i hate the whole processes of looking for a new job, fillig out applications and going for interviews.

This fiasco over the Pope's 9/12 speech (admittedly one of his most boring and obtuse) is indicative that there is more emotion than reason in the reaction. It was the same thing after the 9/11/01 attacks. Tom Friedman (of the NY Post) went to the Phillipines and Indonesia to ask Muslims what they thought of the attacks. A number of them denied that they even happened in the first place - some said that they happened, but the Jews were behind it. When Friedman asked where they heard that, the response was that something on the internet told them that no Jews showed up to work on 9/11/01.

So there's ignorance, and ignorance breeds violence. How do we end the ignorance?

BTW, if you believe there were no Jews killed in the 9/11/01 attacks, I lost a fraternity brother - Darren - who was Jewish. He was killed in the Pentagon.

Is really mind boggling. He would come down as a Son of God as a human being? but Jesus prays on the cross to God???? I thought he was one of the same? why would he talk to himself and kill himself? Isnt that contradicting the ten commandments? "THY SHALL NOT KILL" If he died to save your sins then he is not setting a good example.

i dont understand this whole concept. i'm not only talking about restaurants, i'm talking about any place we go where you pay first for whatever product or service you're getting, then on top of what you just paid for, you also have to pay tip to whoever served/helped you. don't get me wrong, anytime i go to a restaurant, i pay at least 15% min, usually 20%, whether the service was good or not.

let's say i go to bennigans, i order food and the bill is $100. then i pay another $20 for tip to pay the server who is employed BY bennigans. i just spend $100 to bennigans and now i have to spend antoher $20 to pay for their employee? i don't understand why bennigans only pays them $2/hr and then the customer is pretty much responsible for deciding whether they have a good day or not. the whole tipping concept doesn't make sense to me.

same thing as hair salon, i pay $20 for a haircut, then i have to tip her $4. why doesn't the employer just pay them with the $20 i just paid.
