Does the fact that one of Jesus' followers were bad invalidate what Jesus taught?

Far from invalidating Jesus and the Catholic Church, Judas's betrayal leading to Jesus's suffering and crucifixion validate Christianity beyond any reasonable doubt.

The events of which I have just spoken, where foretold by Biblical prophets, most notably Isaiah. Jesus Himself foretold of these events prior going to Jerusalem for the Passover.

It's more than just a question of knowing what's going to happen - it's an understanding that these things absolutely had to happen if Jesus was to accomplish His mission here on Earth.

Remember, God decided to reconcile man to Himself. God chose to send His Son to earth - and take upon Himself the sins of the world with His pain and suffering. With Jesus's victory on the cross came this reconciliation. Now, those who live as righteous life as possible have a chance to go to Heaven. Before the Resurrection, the doors of heaven were not open. Now they are.

Judas was one of Jesus's most loyal and faithful Apostles. And yet, he fell from grace in the worst possible way. Still, this was meant to happen. Then you have Peter, the Prince of the Apostles, who abandons Jesus at His hour of need. Still, he went on to fulfill his mission by leading the Church is spreading the Good News to all nations.

The successes and failures of these two Apostles teaches us that even the most holy of us can still screw up in the strongest possible terms. They also demonstrate that perceived weakness will yeild thr greatest strength.

Also, the number of Catholics in the world is increasing.

Catholic church, batholic smerch. who cares?

Questions about Jesus, or Questions designed to convert or recruit people to Jesus (or even away from Jesus for that matter)are simply a waste of time. Ditto for being "saved" or trying to clarify minute points of scripture when there are so many different interpretations and editions of text. People have already decided for the most part if they believe in the fiction written in the bible. People who feel God talks to them have psychological problems because hearing voices is a psychological illness. All the major world religions have issues like this.
