I'm enlisted and I've been judged over and over again for having enlisted because of the "thou shalt not kill" and someother issues. Why do others critisize me for it when there has been many holy wars over the centuries and I seriously doubt God would judge me should I be attacked and I defend myself. the commandment doesn't say "thou shalt not defend thyself". There are scriptures that say that you shouldn't judge others. And should i be in the field and one of my friends is being attacked, i'm going to protect my friend even if it means killing someone. there are scriptures that say that if you're willing to risk or give your life for a friend, that that is one of the greatest loves and is admired by God. I simply don't get what the big deal is. I'm not Infantry so i may never see warfare with my job. I don't support the war that's going on, but I do support my community and my country and after 9/11 I believe that what i'm doing is the best way to show my support.

Hooah!

I'm an enlisted soldier also.

Thou shalt not kill; but the bible also says that we have every right to defend ourselves.

Those who condemn you have probably never been in the military and have no clue what it means to serve their country.

And, yes, we do serve.

Thank you for your service.

I too enlisted after 9/11.

No, not because I wanted to kill anyone but because I knew that being older I would be more responsible behind the trigger than an 18 or 19 year old and also because I know a little about Islam and am not prejudiced against all Muslims....just the ones who want to kill us.

A life of service is never easy.

But remember, you are not alone.

Follow what the Lord puts into your heart to do and serve Him first, always.

That's how we know we are doing the right thing.

By knowing we are where God wants us to be and are doing His will.

i believe num1kizzert, there are a ways too many labels because it is. indoors of christianity on my own there are too many. I do like what one person reported "We Christians do no longer condemn homosexuals. God condemns homosexuality and all who fail to repent of this abominable sin.", yet many followers at impressive right here have reported that it extremely isn't any longer god that condemns it is ourselves by ability of coming up the suggestions that we do and not beg for forgiveness hence we are then hellbound. What this poster has reported contridicts what diverse believers have reported, hence making the communicate very doubtful, and rather frankly stagnant. i in my view do no longer shield labels. I actual have seen what human beings can do under "religious labels", and that may not staggering, loving, worrying, tolerant or be attentive to-how. satisfied New 3 hundred and sixty 5 days Markyyy :)

Now you understand how us atheists feel when christians condemn us.

Not very christian-like of them is it? We atheist are good regardless, b/c we know we are responsible for our OWN actions and not the actions of others.

Its not religion that creates wars, it's people with religion that create wars. And I'm sorry that you are one of the one's in the fight and in the hot seat with christians. It's unfair that you have to lay your life on the line so that these christians can have choice of religion in our country. So coming from an atheist, thank you, thank you for all that you do, known and unknown to the U.S. public.

75% of the US Prisons are filled with christians.
less than 0.2% are Atheist.
As a former christian, that tells me alot about the Christians and how hateful they can be at times.

It's not just Christians...haven't you noticed that people are in general out to argue with someone over something...no matter what it is.
If it's not over religion, it's because you are mowing your lawn to early on Saturday morning, or that you slowed down at the yellow light instead of going through it and so the person behind you had to wait too...
It doesn't matter, people just love to condemn...for any reason.
They even condemn people for condemning others.
It's our nature I guess.

When people judge you for that...1) rememebr God slaughtered quite a few folks himself...2) Ask them if THEY want to fight for the free country THEY live in and...3) If they have so little respect those who killed to make this country what it is, then they can move to Iraq or Iran.

Thank you for serving our country and for serving God! The "Christians" who condemn you are Christians that have not studied the word of God. You are right, all throughout history there have been battles fought in the name of God and He chooses the warriors who must serve in His army. I fully support the war on Terror and I respect your role in it.
God Bless!

Friend I have the best anwser for you...Romans 13 says that military are here as GOD MINISTERS to exucute wrath on those who do evil (like osoma). THe BIble says thou sall not MURDER kill is a wrong translation. If it said kill God would have commanded his people to disobey his commands as you will remember God told his people all thorughout the bible to KILL others like in 1st and 2nd kings.....etc.
THanks for serving and I am a Christian. Thanks for being and minister of God for me.

Those Christians do not understand that, without people like you, they would never have had the chance to exist, let alone practice their religion.
