The old Testament and the new Testament contradict each other in several passages - one prominent example:

OT - An eye for an eye, NT - turn the other cheek

or

Sacrifices were to take away sin. Num.15:24-28.
"Jesus" sacrifice took away sins. Heb.10:12; Heb.9:26-28.
Sacrifices never take away sin. Heb.10:11.
There are many more, but you get the idea. The Talamuth and Martin Luther both state that Satan can assume any form in the flesh.... so what if Jesus was not the son of God, but Satan, who gave us a new set of 'false' guidelines that contradict the old law?

Any comments?

sorry for the error - yes that would be the talmud

Please, the fact that Satan is bad and Jesus was good is NO argument that Satan could not have played a really really good guy for 30+ years to screw everybody for eternity.......

Matthew 12:22-37 - what a weak argument that is.... what better trick by Satan than to cast out one of his demons to demonstrate that he is 'not really Satan'... as the Guiness guys would say: BRILLIANT!

What says God cannot change his mind? Err nothing, really, but that would make him neither infallible nor omniscient.... so you kinda have to make up your mind on this one....

Why would Satan try to tempt himself at Matthew 4:1, 8-10 - it is one of the oldest tricks in the book.... deceit by self incrimination

All it takes is "faith"...

If we assume for the sake of argument that their could be a Satan, then I'm sure he'd be the master of deception, and what better deception could there be, than a double-bluff?!

I notice by the insults you are recieving you have hit an obvious doubt in the minds of so-called "loving christians", lol!

Glad to see you're reading your Bible, keep that up. Many people feel that the bible contradicts itself, but that's just not so. When you seriously study the bible you're able to take pieces of information and connect the dots.

There were rules and guidelines to follow, I will comment on just one and that is the sacrifices. Sacrifices of animals as a form of atonement would never take sin away completely and the people knew that. It was designed so that they would remember that they were sinful and needed their sins forgiven. Somewhat of a reminder to them if you will. It wasn't until Jesus willingly gave up his position in heaven as God's son and subsequently gave his life for us that sins could be permanently forgiven for repentant wrongdoers. You should read a brochure called "A Book for All People" --you can get it for free at watchtower.org. Once you learn about God and his purposes, misconceptions about the Bible will disolve. God would never allow Satan to take the form of Jesus. Why would Satan try to tempt himself at Matthew 4:1, 8-10.

i have a comment. The old testament and the new one, are both written by man. Man is free willed to do what he wants, and to contradict themselves. So they do this in the Old Testament, and new one and the bible. christianity wasnt even formed untill like 300-500 years after the death of crhist. Who knows what really happend. Jesus never claimed to even be the son of god, everyone else did. Jesus was just a philosopher, with an awesome philosophy that he actually lived by. But he was human just like anyone else. Jesus is just a man, and satan is just a made up character created by the christian empire thousands of years ago.

In Matthew chapter 4, Mark chapter 1, and Luke chapter 4, the text describes Jesus being tempted by Satan in the wilderness.
According to your premise, Jesus is tempting himself, if he is, according to your version, both Jesus and Satan. Why would Jesus tempt himself. Sorry, your assumption is stupid. Forget the "Talamuth" and Martin Luther and read the King James Bible. Peace

First of all, when Jesus came to Earth, he changed a lot of what was law in the Old Testament. For instance...in the Old Testament, you had to perform sacrifices, but after Jesus came and died FOR our sins, he was the FINAL sacrifice. Do you see the difference?
Who said that God can't change his mind?

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

Jesus did not come to change the laws he simply fulfilled them. Because he was sacrificed, no sacrifices needed to ever be made again. the laws about food were changed because he made everything clean. How could Jesus cast out Demons if He was satan. you need to think before you open your mouth.

God sent Jesus to clarify everything and bring us the new Covenant of Peace, and forgiveness.

I don't follow that God needed to send ANY new prophets after sending his Son and giving us the Holy Spirit.

Peace!
