To me the search and expression of the Truth is an intensely spiritual experience. When one goes to church most often they congregate with a group of people who are injected with one particular ideology and the only way they interact is to affirm that particular ideology via song, responsive readings, etc. Dialectically coming to the truth via dialog is much more effective than the inductive approach.

I'm really feelin my hair but a lot of Black people around my way keep on asing me "why did I stop relaxing my hair" or "I used to have that pretty 'Indian' hair" And some of them keep on saying "you bout to loook like a slave" Why do some Black folks still act like this?

I used to be a Christian and I really did believe in what the Bible says about Jesus and heaven, but now (for about 3 years) I just can't believe anymore.

Here's the question. How can people believe that Christianity is the one true religion when there are hundreds of world religions which also declare that their religion is the right one? It just seems illogical to me since if a person was born in India, they would most likely become a Hindu and think the same thing about Christians that Christians think about Hindus. This goes for lots of countries. And do the people in those countries go to Hell for not being Christians? I just think most Christians believe because they were brought up as little children to believe. I was too. My father is a preacher and a chaplain. I think if people would just be more thoughtfull and not always believe what they are told to believe then religions wouldn't have nearly as many followers. I'm eager to hear some answers. Thank you

"Is god willing to prevent evil but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him god?"

OK i'm sooo shy when it comes to talking to girls. I'm bisexual and have a boyfriend so he usually introduces me. But seriously when I'm out and about I get so nervous to approach a cute girl. I guess I'm afraid that she is not going to be bi, react badly and reject me. How can I get over this?

Anyways, why is it that the low-paying jobs need to be opened during most holidays? Just curious....I work on retail right now, but I still go to school. And I've noticed that it's all those jobs that have employees working with low pay that have to work holiday times.

Does this mean they're not worth the Labor day idea?

Mine was trying to take a sip of water but my hand was so shaky that they all saw me spill a bit. From then on I decided to keep my hands under the table no matter how thirsty I was!! I didn't get the job, by the way, but I don't think that was the reason....

I’m going through bad time. I am suffering from guilt.
It was during my college days that I was addicted to
Smoking. My parents came to know about that. I promised
on god and that I will stop it. But I was again succumbed
to it a couple of times. Now I have quit it completely.
Its 2 years since I quit.

Now the things are not going fine with me. I am suffering from the
guilt that I succumbed to it even after promising. I am feeling that
I am getting the punishment for what I did. I am not able to focus
on anything. Will I ever be forgiven?

down on positive black people? My black friend works as a cashier in this restaurant and he says that the majority of the people who are rude and disrespectful to him are his own black people. They make fun of him for being polite to the customers, they always have a nasty attitude towards him for no reason. They have even told him things like he is not black because he knows how to read and and because he pronounces his words correctly? I didn't believe that people could treat their own people that way until I got the job along side him, and I saw for myself. They were extremely loud, rude, and obnoxious. When they come into the restaurant they are always cursing at the top of their lungs (it is like it is a second language to them) I know it is not all black people who behave this way but it is the MAJORITY of them that do. Can anyone help me to understand why black people look down on other blacks who are doing something positive with themselves.

It's not that serious as to where you have to hate or dislike the people that are trying to spread God's word.

I know about folks having too much to drink & intake of other stuff, but pray tell - why do I always park the old hippy live-in truck nevt to someone with an internal problem at around 3am. ? Every time.
Alarming sounds, and guidance back to their camper van every time. "Here, have a doughnut and go to sleep for a while"
You can't surely enjoy that venue, or any others, if you are completly wrecked the whole time.
Catch me in a bar tent, and see what I mean.
(I like my beers & smokes) But up to a personal limit.

I'm sorry. I'm just asking. I get the impression that religious people get information about Evolution in a Sunday School, and they are told how it is wrong and how Darwin was a racist and all these sorts of things, and how they don't have to believe it cause the "truth" is right there in their Bible.

I base this on what I see here on yahoo answers and my real life. A woman I work with honestly said her son came home from school having learned about Evolution and she said we'll take care of that in Sunday School.

To be clear, I am all for you religious people having your own beliefs, no problem with that, don't want to believe in Evolution, no problem. Don't want your children to, no problem.

I just question, all beit I admit a stupid question, do you really know what it is your rejecting?
