I have restled with this question for a long time. All I know is that my life completely changed the day I repented of all my sins and was lowered into the water. I was born again. I was blessed with a power that enabled me to overcome my greatest weaknesses. I had accepted Christ about a year before that point, but I was still to weak to refuse certain temptations in my life - sins that I had struggled with for a very long period of time. Peter said, "Repent and be baptized, eveyone of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit" (Acts 2:38). With all my heart, I believe I received the Holy Spirit on that day. The change in my life is evidence enough for me, but what about those who believe but are yet to repent of their sins and be baptized? Is faith alone enough for us to get into Heaven, or do you believe that we must depend on works as well?

I think it is time for those of us who are proud to be pagans to start building public temples again. We should make them modern and beautiful. They should be inviting places to visit and worship. I say let's return to the public respect of our Gods and Godesses. Who is with me on this?

I have lived on the sea all my life and NEVER heard of a ray killing anyone with it's stinger. The worst I have heard is stepping on one hiding in the sand and getting your foot messed up and that was very infrequent. A ray will try to escape before it attacks anyone. Steve Irwin courted his death for years, he harrassed animals, he was cruel and an attention hog. But I never, in my wildest dreams thought he would die this way. I thought a crocodile would kill him or a snake. Does anyone else think this was poetic justice?

Someone here keeps suggesting this.

I'd be interested in the evidence to back this up.

PS: evolution and science are neither atheistic nor humanistic. They take no position on matters of faith. Many evolutionists and scientists are also religious.

I am American, and my #1 girl is from Japan. If we married, I've seen brides' clothing: white kimono and proper accessories topped with a uchikake robe that may be solid white or have various patterns on a background of white, gold, orange or red. Miyuki says the colors and things shown symbolize various things, e.g. white=purity, red=happiness, cranes & pines=longevity, etc. Her surname Komatsu means "Small Pine", so I'll probably get her a uchikake with pines. I could ask her about my clothing, but I want to surprise her. I have kimono in black, grey and brown and matching haoris. I have several hakama, plain and striped. My tabi are blue, black and white. My zori have black straps. I also have three antique samurai kamishimo and hakama. Do you think that any of my japanese clothing is proper to wear to a Japanese wedding, or should I buy more. Perhaps Miyuki can judge the best answers to this question. Silly answers result in deleted questions.

I am a teenager, I'm not to sure about my view on religion.
I believe that God did indeed create the universe, but I'm not so sure about life after death (being in heaven). I believe we just..die. I believe that heaven is a place that our souls go to, but I don't believe we "live forever" in heaven.
I also don't believe in Satan. I believe in hell, but not a superior power ruling this so called "under world". I believe we as people use Satan, and "evil" as an excuse when we do something wrong. I don't think the "devil" tempts us. I believe people tempt us.

I need help uderstanding what my beliefs are viewed as.
Please help.
