I think it is time for those of us who are proud to be pagans to start building public temples again. We should make them modern and beautiful. They should be inviting places to visit and worship. I say let's return to the public respect of our Gods and Godesses. Who is with me on this?

If it is your belief to build temples for worship, Go for it. It would be interesting to see how you design them.

Eh, why not? Is there anything more claustrophobic and stuffy than traditional churches?

Make the temples beacons of pure beauty and light. Make them so aesthetically pleasing that people will gasp at how beautiful they are and they will walk away inspired with a feeling of respect and a brand new inner connection.

Have the temples open to the sunlight and have trees around and with birds singing. Isn't this supposed to be earth based? Make it modern but also earthy. Make the temples places that people will be in awe of and give a feeling of getting back to their roots. A place to go to connect back to the earth. No preaching going on there, just light n love n laughter.

I think they are trying.

I went to Greece and saw the Parthenon, and they are trying to repair it, but it doesn't look anything like the computer generated books they have ... and then we went to Delphi (where the Oracle lived), and again, the German archaeologists were reconstructing it, but it still looks like they're in ruins. In Sicily (Italy), the temples remain mostly untouched, but they still look old. In Chitzinitza (spelling???) Mexico, the Germans have done a great job of reconstructing the pyramids from total rubble ...

However, it seems that Los Vegas, Nevada, USA has done the best job on the planet to recreate monuments and make them functional ... collecting money, and wasting money. I have not seen the temples for Lobh, Geri & Freki, Abbathor, or Mammon. Oh, well, it's still working and they're getting rich.

You are making against me the same mistake as Christians did and still are doing (not only them). Do you remember what Jesus has done to Temple when he saw what it is truly used for? Yours situation is difrent but the problem of worshiping God is not making statues of Him and bulding temples. God demands gathering and living as one strong nation in faith and in Gods Wisdom. I believe God dont put attantion on religion (some kind of culture and level of understanding) but if people devoted in faith walk wright path to comprehend His Message and Wisdom. By becoming masters of understanding division of good and evil (what is truly hard), by devoting what realy belongs for us to keep in faith and good we should reach Him.
