I do. They charge money for their auditing courses. They harass former members and critics. And their beliefs were written by a science fiction writer who got busted by the police numerous times.

This is a response to a question about fundies accepting evolution:

Science has always proved God's word in the Bible. Science supports the Bible. Evolution is not science, it is a aethiestic religion.

Does science REALLY prove anything in the Bible as being true, or is this just the typical fundie behavior of bending the truth?

Seriously, someone asked if we knew that there was NO evidence of a worldwide flood. I sent this and they seemed to feel it was not evidence. What is it then and if you know a link that gives possible evidence please post it.

The most inconsiderate thing to do is to bring children in flights! I am sick and tired of toddlers CRYING their eyes out and bawling when i am trying to take a nap along with 300 other people. The constant fighting and getting up makes the trip very unpleasant, not to mention the running down the isles, playing in the lavatories and elbowing everyone sitting on either extreme.

PLEASE, if you have children drive to your destination. It'll be cheaper for you and you will make our flights more pleasant and get our money's worth. Children must be banned from airports!!

I was surprised that someone was offended by the phrase "it was screwed up" - they took it as if I had used the four-letter "F" word. (If you don't know what that is, please don't answer this question.)

This was a customer service agent, who objected to the language, did not want to write it down the way I said it.
It made me wonder how many people feel the same way.

So the question is: if you are offended by the "F" word, would you be offended by the phrase "it was screwed up"?

The word witch has different connotations for different people. I find I use it more among my Pagan friends than non-Pagan. I think the word witch needs to be reclaimed and used without fear, but what do others think? What is the destiny of the word? Do you feel proud calling yourself a witch, or does it make you feel uneasy? I hope one day we can use this word like we use it amongst our Pagan friends and not feel ashamed, guilty, or nervous. What are your opinions?

Why do pro lifers thrive on saving an unborn from being killed in the womb, while pro choicers thrive on killing it because it's not consider human life yet? Why do pro lifers usually not agree with stem cell research, they wanna save the unborn but what about saving those who are born? Why do some pro choicers not agree with stem cell research even though they agree with murdering a human... oh my bad it's not yet a human right?

Brits who travel or live in the USA, what strikes you which is almost archetypical about the Americans, considering anything from humour, cuisine, fashion, the Language to, say, the transport system and foot/soccer. Tell anecdotes if you have any.
I put the same question, the other way round to Yankees.

I've read alot of people's answers on this saying that they 'used to be gay' and are now straight or bi, some say they used to be bi and are now gay or straight and so on. Do you, in your opinion, think this is possible, I personaly don't, I just cant see it happening, mabey these people just had a bad experience with someone and subconsiously decided not to like that sex in general, mabey it's a concious decision. But I think, if the right person came along, they would be back to their previous sexuality. I just don't think you can turn off your sexuality like a light switch. If we could every gay person who goes through a bad time with it, coming out and whatnot would choose to be straight, it's less complicated. Mabey I'm wrong, what do you think?

I mean, conceited that we humans are, our "religions" claim that universe exists, simply because God wanted to forge humans in his image (we are such MCPs, God is a "he" Noone says God could be "she" or better, "it" because God can not be bound in the usual parameter of male or female), or whatever.

I don't really know any major religions (Tom Cruise is a dick) that say that God might have created life on more than one planets.

If we ever come across an intelligent life form that is more advanced and developed than ours, WILL THAT BE THE END OF RELIGIONS?

Or would the missionaries and maulanas rush to their planet to spread the word of GOd/Allah?

ive asked this 3x...ok, so my boyfriend of 2 years broke up w/ me about 2 & a half months ago & I am still upset about it. Some days I hate him & other days I miss him & want him back. When he broke up w/ me he said @ first it was because I was possessive and then he told me he just wanted to be single for awhile. Well two weeks later he starts dating a girl who is 15 (he is 17) & she lives 3 hours away. And they only had met once before they started dating. I don't know what to do anymore. Ive been depressed for awhile & it feels like I will never get over it. Then school is going to start in less then a month and Im really scared to see him because I haven't seen him all summer and I loved it but Im afraid when I see him @ school Im going to get upset and the progress I had made will be gone. Do you think that his relationship is just a rebound? And he will ever call me again to apologize? I just want some answers but I dont want to talk to him until they break up. What should I do?

So as not to contradict what their religion says they try and balance and find ways to justify what science says in relation to their religion. For example, evolution.

Evolution has a myriad of facts and proven scientific evidence for its existence. So much so that Christians, being unable to deny it, have absorbed it into their philosophy. Genesis clearly states how God created people (creationism) yet when confronted with scientific evidence they cannot challenge they absorb it and say "Oh yeah, well, evolution is how it happened, but only because God made it that way" When will you finally admit you are wrong?

This is what I see.
One materialistic guy loses everything.
He is suffering from a new him try emerge.
He tells others to ignore his materialistic self.
He perform rituals with "fight club" members and brings them to a level of one body with a purpose.
The new him lives in the now and knows what it means to contribute and have fun.
He(pitt) forces the physical(norton) into experiencing this reality with a knowledge of existing on multiple levels of existence.
The chaos they seem to employ is nothing more than a symbol of complete freewill.
When he shoots himself he has actually emerged as the original iin charge but both at work.
Why they try to eliminate the debt-----?
It seems they don't need money to be their source of happiness and want to see what people will do when others contribute out of like dreams being accomplished.
Just a theory, but it works. ;)

The question above was an answer given to one of my questions.

I'm straight, atheist and humanist. Two of my best friends are gay. They have been married together for years now. One of them works daily with children and would make a great parent. They tried to adopt a child, and were granted a child after years of waiting. In the end they decided to NOT adopt the child, because they were affraid the child would get too many problems in a Christian society having two male parents.
An act of pure love for a child they hadn't even met. Sadly enough the Christian society makes people make these horrible decisions.

My question: Isn't it funny, harsh and ignorant that Christians truly think if people don't believe in the Bible it also doesn't affect their daily lives?

I would like to take the hostess a gift - would like your thoughts on what is appropriate, please?

The dinner party is being given by an ex-colleague of mine and her husband. She has invited my boyfriend (they work together) and suggested he might like to bring me, but hasn't contacted me direct, and I think I might have offended her slightly. I would like to make amends.

The dinner party is quite important for my boyfriend as his boss will be there, the hostess is a well educated middle class English lady aged 50.

Should he take wine and would it be appropriate for me to take a gift such as flowers?

I'mm also feeling anxious about what to wear...any helpful suggestions please?!
