to break one of the ten commandments? How do you know? Has he told you personally etc...

Do you think the right wing Christians will be judged as harshly as they judge others they disagree with?

Are they disobeying God when they try to punish gay people?

Matthew 7
1"Judge not, that you be not judged. 2For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you."

I'm debating whether to save money on a used bed versus a new bed. But aren't there germs inside used mattresses?

Based on he passage below, do you think Jesus would be pleased with all the so-called Christians working to hard to deny gay people the rights everyone else enjoys? Are all these people sin-less and can now worry about the sins of gay people?

In Mathew 7, Jesus says,

3"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye. "

This religion is the one I have the most problems with(I'm atheist). First of all, supposedly how we all got here according to them is Adam and eve right? 2 things wrong with this if we really were we would all have almost the exact same genetics. Also 2 people can't just BOOM into the billions today it's not possible. Also, virgin Mary? I don't believe that for one second no way. I believe it must have been rape or something like that and Mary was too embarrassed to tell anyone the truth, so she made up her story. Now on to Jesus, yes he was great guy and did a lot of great things and I do believe he existed. Maybe even the greatest man to walk the earth. I do not think he had a connection with god(because I believe he exists), I think he heard voices in his head like many people and his just happened to be good voices and with a person to him named god. I'm a believer in evolution. Opinions?

I have seen, heard, read and researched many sources that prove that the Bible is historically, geographically, and archeologically accurate. Many non-Biblical sources also prove and speak of many things that happened in the Bible. No scholar has ever proved the Bible to be in-accurate. Also we actually have the ancient texts to look at, places to go to, etc.
None of this exists from my research of the book of Mormon, in fact many religious and non-religious scholars can easily prove the unreliabilty of the book of Mormon. I was wondering if anyone else had the same problem.
Thanks

This is part of my friend's sage_grouse on livejournal's response to it. I repeat, I did NOT write the following, but I do agree with her wholeheartedly.

--
These people are not moral crusaders. They are not do-gooders. They are not martyrs. They are not victims of discrimination. They are not victims of anything.

They are stupid, selfish people who either failed to consider the possible situations involved in their jobs, or even worse, people who deliberately picked this line of work JUST so that they could **** with people on a higher, much more dangerous and direct personal level than the usual route of carrying big dead fetus signs outside of abortion clinics. Plus, they probably figured a job in the medical field would probably pay better. Good thing avarice isn't a sin.

Oscar Wilde, Anglo-Irish playwright and author said this:

"Religions die when they are proved to be true. Science is the record of dead religions."

What are your thoughts on this statement?

let's do it Fats, you and me...... O.K., Eddie a few dollars a point.., C'mon, Fats, it's you and me, $100 a point.

Jackie Gleason playing Minnesota Fats smiles and says, ... no wonder why they call you Fast Eddie ! .... Rack 'em up.

Here we go Fat Man, fast and loose.

Was Eddie Felson right..... Is that what life is all about...?

Is life a whirlwind run for the roses, that's fast and loose, where to the victor belongs the spolis and nice guys finish last.

Or were the smoke filled pool halls of New York City, Chicago and New Orleans a place just to hangout, where every misfit in town listened to Frank Sinatra belt our 'Luck Be A Lady" and listened as Miles Davis gave us his rendention of 'Bye Bye Blackbird"?

Give it up, people, your answers...do it.

Fast and loose.

And, as a post script...What did you think of the movie, The Hustler, staring Paul Newman and Jackie Gleason?
