Statistically it's safer than driving or even walking!

but still it does seem kinda odd throwing myself down a waterfall or out of a plane!

Absolutley not. You dont whatever makes you buzz my friend. Just make sure you take the nessesary safety precautiouns. After all we only get one life, so if there is anything you want to do, do it, Because we want to get old thinking..... Darn, i wish i did that when i was younger.

So my answer to you is.... Go for it.

You have to think about what's right for you. If you're willing to take such risks, go ahead, but make sure to think it through carefully first, taking possible consequences into account. Are you ready to risk your life or becoming permanently disabled for a hobby, for a few moments of adrenaline and excitement?

I know someone who did extreme sports a lot for a few years, until this one time when things didn't go as planned and he ended up with very serious back injuries that took over his life and made it miserable. He didn't think it could happen to him. He had a lot of fun with those things for a few years years but since age 26 (when he got the injuries) his life has been nothing but a painful nightmare that never seems to take an end. Just think about that possibility and whether you're ready to spend the rest of your life like that if something goes wrong. Do what you think is right for you.

Those who complain about you doing them are simply jealous that they have not got the courage to do it themselves! In other words, they are probably boring old farts like me!

You would not catch me anywhere near doing those sort of activities and I am amazed that people do them! I am terrified of heights (I cannot even stand on a chair) but have been rock climbing and abseiling. I found them fun - as long as I did not look down!

Okay, so I'm a coward and jealous of you! But you are an adult and are aware of what can go wrong. You are (I presume!) taking all the precautions that you can. You are facing your own mortality. You are living life to the full - so why worry what others think! But you are right, it does seem kind of odd throwing yourself down a waterfall or out of a plane!

I did a sky dive a couple of week ago.
The free fall I did not like, but when the chute opens the silence feels like you are living inside a dream-living the dream!
It is ethereal and spiritual.

Go for it!!!!

A girl at the sky jump center told me of her bungee jump over the victoria falls from a balloon......Now that must be the ultimate experience!! Water, mist, rainbows surrounding you.

Do not spout facts about what a minority do.
Most people drive. Most people Walk.
If you are happy and your family are happy then I say go for it.
You know it is dangerous, That is why you do it. I would love to try but am chicken.
Good luck.

oh, yeow...it is infinantly safer...that is for sure. IN fact, I am sure that fewer people die from skydiving than from falling in their tub...therefore, instead of taking baths, I shall sky dive for the rest of my life. Your question really doesn't make a lot of sense, does it?
