I'm also a skeptic. Could there be something in the loch? Possibly. Is it a dinosaur? No.
Regarding the "monster" in Loch Ness the smart money says that it is likely an eel. It seems that sometimes eels choose to stop following their traditional life-cycle of living in the sea and returning to the fresh-waters of their birth. These asexual eels can grow to be quite large. It seems that there are certain bodies of water around the world that encourage this bizarre trait in eels. Loch Ness may be one of these places. So, I can't say for certain, but if I had to make a guess as to what lives in the dark, mysterious waters of Loch Ness, I'd have to guess that it is a series of gigantic, asexual eels.

Lake Titicaca, some lake out in B.C that the natives still make offerings to, I forget what they are called, but these monsters are suppose to be affiliated with dreams. There are a few stories out there and there was a scientific endevour that seen something very large swimming deep in the ocean where no one can go. BUT DONT SAY MONSTER! geez, thats how you kill a good thing _Still looking like christopher colombus_ and dont say we didnt know the world was round because we did, but had no need to go in search of more food. 60 % of what the world eats was found when they came upon the indians...and they had no problems with potatoes back then. Yea you really wanted to go searching for more indians to trade with right Marko Polo? You didnt even know what soap was till Inidans showed you that the scurvy washes off! So it was written that a shortcut was being sought and one was found. nopath360 blog page, check it out

It would be nice to think that such a mysterious creature exists. I just find it difficult to believe that a creature reportedly the size of "Nessie" is happily swimming around Loch Ness, yet never captured by sonar, satellite imagery etc.. Like I said, it would be nice if she was.

I've never been to Lochness.
But I grew up on a dairy farm near Lake Erie in upstate New York. As a child, I swam in that lake every summer, almost every day (it was actually clean then). I know...I mean, I know for a FACT...that there was something HUGE in that lake, cuz I have felt it in the water with me, many, many times, and because I have actually SEEN it, more than a few times.
Could the Lake Erie critter be a cousin to Nessie? I dunno, but it's definitely THERE!!

I think it is possible. A while back a fish was caught that was believed to be extinct for millions of years. So maybe Nessie is a prehistoric creature believed to be extinct and bc there are so few it is hard to find them and are only sighted from time to time.
