I've read somewhere that in 7-th book Harry will met his relatives and they are Russians, because his aunt, his father's sister had married some powerful wizard. What do you think about it?

Jesus is quoted many times in the Bible saying that a believer can ask for anything through prayer and receive it. He even goes so far as to say that mountains and trees can be thrown into the sea simply by praying for it. This is clearly a lie, and can be proven to be a lie by any believer. Simply pray for me to be converted to Christianity right away. Or better yet ask God to move the mountains behind my house. He could make a lot of converts that way. If I’m converted today, I’ll post a public apology on my web site and devote my life to kissing God’s ***. If I’m not converted it would only be fair for you to apologize and devote your life to kissing my butt.

I am not looking to start a fight or for name calling. I also apologize if I hurt anyone’s feelings.

My question is as a faith that holds the "only key" to salvation and a order to spread this "Good News"; is Christianity an arrogant religion? And is this one of the reasons for "Christian Bashing"?

If you can put signs on your churches telling me to worship jesus I can make signs telling you to say no to jesus. Freedom of speech it's called.

I like language exchange with someone from japan, but i noticed some of them even in japan whom i talked to by voice chat, have this american accent even in japanese. Is it that they try so much to sound American and do'nt even care about their own language? But then, why would they forget their accent IN japan. it's not like they live in America. And also, why would they even do that, maybe they hate their culture? Actually some japanese i've talked to in the chats say they just hang out with Americans and do'nt like japanese.. strange.. very strange.. anyways, whatever..

I have been online for over 10 years now and it has been only in the last 3 or 4 years that I have noticed people typing in a sort of Shorthand code. I just don't see the point in it. Half the people can't read it and the rest can't type in it. so what good does it do?

I'm not just trying to be nasty here I'm hoping to make a serious point.

It seems to me that most (though obviously not all) people from the USA seem to be incredibly ignorant when it comes to other countries. I don't understand, don't you have geography lessons at school? If you do, do they teach you anything about the world outside America? The thing that annoys me the most is the way Americans actually believe in all the stereotypes when it comes to British people or French people or whatever. But it really isn't the same the other way round. I think that on average British people (for example) could tell you more about the United States than an American could tell you about the United Kingdom. But why is this? What is wrong with the American education system?

Also why do so many people on this website seem to think that this website is only used by Americans? There are many other people using it too so how about you try considering that when you ask questions

Humans are by nature sinful and dishonest. Yet they are trusted to write God's book (which has been edited over the years)? If God could create Heaven and Earth why not write his own book?

consider this..the bible is (1/3) prophecy. It confirms the torah. It knew the earth was suspended by nothing, even describes dinosaurs 1000s of years earlier!! Men can't prophecize so specific and vivid, so God intervened!! Modern Bible is 97.25% accurate as original !!(few spelling mistakes, synonyms) You are free to believe what u want, but the fact is that there hasn't been anything to CONCRETELY disprove the Bible to date!!

Why is it wrong to say that I disagree with homosexuality? I think its a sin for two reasons; 1st the bible calls it an abomination *See Leviticus Ch18 v22* & 2ndly it's fornication (sex without marriage) *See Acts Ch15 v20; 1Corinthians Ch7 v2; 1Corinthians Ch6 v18; Jude Ch1 v 7; 2Corinthians Ch12 v 21.* I don't think its okay to bash gays or treat them unfairly. I think what they do in the bedroom is their business. I just don't agree with the lifestyle. I don't think it can be equated with race or that it should be listed in the consititution as a protected class But when I say that, people get all mad like I just have to accept it. I accept that people r different and that God gives us free will to choose between right and wrong. I don't accept that homosexuality is just another way of life. Plz don't answer by saying "everybody sins" or "people cheat on their wives". We have all sinned & fallen short of the Glory of God. That doesn't mean we shouldn't try to live right.

1) Is it true to say, athiest's do not believe in GOD simply because their is no evidence, (in their view) of HIM?

2) If athiest's deny GOD's existance for lack of evidence of HIM, then do athiest's believe in an after-life? If so, how is the belief of the latter justified when neither can be proven, (theoretically)?

3) If athiest's deny an after-life, (which would be logical) what is their purpose and joy in life? When all is said and done, what is the reward of their troubles in life? What future do they have to look forward to?

4) If athiest's deny an after-life, is their any purpose in hoping to leave this world with any honour? If the dead cease to exist, they can neither joy in nor regret the life they lived.

Please, know these questions are written with respect pared with curiousity. Thank you for your time and answers. They are all much appreciated.

When you’re born, through genetics you have predisposition to feel more or less Cognitive dissonance. Cognitive dissonance is the feeling you get whenever you’re your ideas and opinions are in contrast with that of another person’s or when your actions don’t match your beliefs. If not dealt with it turns into physical headaches and stress. This dissonance functions by making us come together and communicate for survival. If you look around you’ll see that like attracts like. People are attracted to other people with similar ideas because it is reaffirming and makes us feel good by reducing that dissonance. It makes us feel normal. You’re more likely to feel you are correct when other people agree. People will usually use the easiest method to reduce dissonance. Some people, join clubs, teams, or go to church with other people who have similar beliefs. Some people exercise and others use drugs like Tylenol or alcohol. A sense of normlessness is called anomie and can lead to depression and even suicide. In those like groups the ideas polarize and become more extreme while their members become more confident in their conclusions. Middle Eastern religious extremists use religion to enable them to become suicide bombers. If you look at the histories of religion you see a pattern. Each religion helps their society deal with their unique life situation for better or worse. The Egyptians had their sun god ect. Therefore, trying to change someone’s religion can make them less adapt to the issues they face in their life. Unfortunately the function of religion is not to show us the truth but to relieve the dissonance by giving us a set of beliefs that tell us what is normal.
