I for one can not prove that when I die there will be no afterlife, but yes after reviewing all the evidence I see none for God.
Why do I exist? I don't know, who cares.
For me I know that I am alive and what makes me happy while I am.
I have a child at home who is 3. I love him and he loves me. I have a wife (shes a Jesus believer) and I love her and she loves me.
So that is what keeps me going, my family.
In terms of God, I have asked for God to make himself real to me. If Jesus can do this for Thomas in the Bible, surely he can do the same for me.

1. Essentially yes. It's the only logical conclusion. There are a lot of things that have no evidence. In fact anything I or anyone else just makes up in their head has no evidence, because it doesn't exist. I can't go around believing any imaginary thought that pops into my head. That way lies insanity. And how can I pick just one thing with no evidence to support it (god) and leave out all the rest? That's just arbitrary and silly. Do I have to believe that government satellites are stealing thoughts from the guy on the street's head, just because he tells me so, and I can't DISprove it? I don't think so.
2. I don't deny, I disregard. That being said, I don't believe in an afterlife, either. Some do, as the term atheist only precludes you from believing in god, not anything else. I don't get it either, you'll have to ask someone who does believe.
3. I'm getting my rewards for the troubles in life right here. It's called happiness, and I'll bet I'm getting a whole lot more of it than a lot of people who are just waiting around for this life to end so they can begin their supposed second one. If you can't find happiness in the here and now that I'm sorry, I truly am, but I suggest you start looking before it's too late. Just my two cents.
4. No, not really any purpose, so I don't. It's nice to think that people would remember you as a good person, but that only helps me in the here and now. Once I'm gone I wont care, I wont even be capable of caring. Life is about life, not death, and not what comes after. The end is irrelevant.

1) that's Agnostic, Atheists flat-out say there is no such entity as God, based on belief and (lack of?) faith.
2) no after-life, obviously it can only be proved by dying, care to try to prove me wrong?
3) the purpose and joy in life is to enjoy life and be a good person because that's the right thing to do in a society (not because some all-power entity threatens you with eternal torture and suffering)
4) (snip) >>If the dead cease to exist, they can neither joy in nor regret the life they lived<< Which is exactly why you have to enjoy everything and everyone in your life right now. This is all you get, so you better make the most of it. Don't waste time praying to imaginary Gods and worrying about getting into Heaven. Carpe Diem.

1.) Most atheists view the lack of evidence as the primary reason they do not believe in God. But the absurdity of religion is right up there. Have you read the Bible? If you've read the entire book, and can't see the contradictions, absurdities, cruely, and just ridiculousness of it, you're not thinking clearly.
2.) Most do not believe in an afterlife.
3.) The purpose and joy in life are not mutually exclusive. The purpose of life IS the joy in life. This is all we have. Make the most of it.
4.) We atheists care about other people. Why would I want to leave the world in shame, when that can potentially harm my loved ones? My children, etc.

1) That is one of the reasons I do not believe. There is no sufficient evidence, or no one would doubt.
2) I do not think there is an afterlife. I do not think there is a soul that lives on after I die.
3) I do not see a need for a reason or goal to life to begin with. I take joy in life itself. I do not need a reason to think the universe is a wonderous place. My reward in life is in living every day with the knowledge that there is so much to learn and do in this world.
4) I want to leave this world better for my descendants, so it is in my best interest to act in a way as to provide them that. This generally means refraining from behavior that could bring them harm. I do not regret the life I have led to date, because it has made me who I am today. My joy is in the life I have, not one that is supposed to occur when I am dead.

Cool, thanks. I don't believe in God or an afterlife. I don't think there is necessarily joy in anyone's life. Many human beings live horrible lives. I didn't choose to come here, and I don't stay for the joy. But it is a logical fallacy to believe anything for the joy it brings you. That is not a reason for belief. Honor is only as good as the kick it gives you to think you're honorable. Same with charity. This is all true, and cannot be rejected because of how you feel about it. Theists like to derail from logic as soon as it shows them something they don't like. Atheists push through.

1) correct.
2) I myself do not believe in an afterlife
3) I enjoy life because there is no afterlife. I live my life with the time I have.
4) I believe that when you leave this world all that is left is what others remember you by. Your actions, words and deeds. I live my life in a way so that another person's life is easier or more enjoyable . There is no day but today.

1) No evidence, and evidence that suggests otherwise
2)no afterlife
3)Everyone's purpose is going to be different. I find my joy comes from the love between myself and my family, and just learning and enjoying nature.
4)Honor is not gained after death. Honor is established in life. Abraham is not gaining more honor as we speak. We enjoy what we have while we have it. It is much more logical than "waiting" for the fun to start in a made up afterlife.

1.Yep I don't believe in things that have no evidence to support them god is one of these, spontaneous human combustion alien abduction and the lockness monster are others.
2.Nope there is no evidence of an afterlife as far as we know there isn't one and it would only be foolish to suggest there is as ther is no evidence to support such a claim.
3.Live for this life. The one we can prove is real not the next one we can't.
4.like I said live for now. Have joy and regret now not when you are dead.
Say no to jesus.

1. i don't believe in god because i think god is a concept created by man.
2. no afterlife, we just die. our brains stop working, and there's nothing.
3. christians assume the reward is coming. atheists assume the reward is now. this life that we have is the reward, and we are to make the best of it, to live life to the fullest. the troubles we face will only heighten our successes. make them all the more satisfying.
4. i enjoy the life i live now, in this moment. after i die i don't give a sh!t what happens to my body, i'm donating it to science. its my memory that will live on. through family, friends, and anything i've accomplished in this life.
also, i think its good to point out that since many atheists put such a high premium on life, we respect all life, it is the guiding morality that anything done to lessen another person's life is wrong.
