Why is it wrong to say that I disagree with homosexuality? I think its a sin for two reasons; 1st the bible calls it an abomination *See Leviticus Ch18 v22* & 2ndly it's fornication (sex without marriage) *See Acts Ch15 v20; 1Corinthians Ch7 v2; 1Corinthians Ch6 v18; Jude Ch1 v 7; 2Corinthians Ch12 v 21.* I don't think its okay to bash gays or treat them unfairly. I think what they do in the bedroom is their business. I just don't agree with the lifestyle. I don't think it can be equated with race or that it should be listed in the consititution as a protected class But when I say that, people get all mad like I just have to accept it. I accept that people r different and that God gives us free will to choose between right and wrong. I don't accept that homosexuality is just another way of life. Plz don't answer by saying "everybody sins" or "people cheat on their wives". We have all sinned & fallen short of the Glory of God. That doesn't mean we shouldn't try to live right.

Yes, God does forgive but you have to confess you're sins and repent (not do them again). Also, God is a forgiving God but He is also like a parent who lays down the rules and expects you to follow them. It doesn't mean you keep doing the same things over and over again like getting a free pass.

A sin is a sin and to have somebody recognize it is not judgement. That is left to God to do. However, as Christians we are supposed to spread His gospel. Which means, yes be hospitable and be accepting of others but still tell them the right path. Jesus didn't just heal the sick, give sight to the blind or raise the dead but He also gave them the Word. John Ch 5 v 14 "Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee."

I believe that everyone has a right to their opinion and beliefs. Thank you all for helping me stand firm on the Rock of my Salvation. You proved to me without a shadow of a doubt that my belief in God is true and right for my life. I wasn't bashing gays or putting anybody down. I simply wanted to know why people get angry when people don't agree with homosexuality... Instead, I got back rude, angry, snide and joking answers. As for portions for of the bible being outdated. Yes, there are some parts (especially about sacrifices) that aren't relevant for today. However, sin isn't one of them. Thanks y'all.

Funny how whenever somebody doesn't agree with the bible, its "outdated". I bet if it said "gay is the way" people would be waving it like a flag. rotfl

It is OK to have opinions on homosexuality that may be against it but when it turns into telling people that they are living their life in the wrong way then that's not OK. I have moral rules that I live by just like you do but I wouldn't shove them in people's faces. People are bound to get mad with you when you mention these opinions because they are strong and may be different to others. Choose your words wisely and relate your points to your beliefs. We all deserve to be listened to but not when we are offensive or inconsiderate.

Apart from the bible. I agree I know many a " Gay" friend who would also agree that sometimes the bedroom extrovert gets more attention. The lifestyle is projected way too much. and that story should change and no it cannot be equated with race as there is racism and prejudices even in the gay community. For real. The problem where society will always have this debate is based on the fact that sodomy between 2 men isn't the first natural act to create life. and 2 woman eggs will not create life either. but everyone has a right and choice to love who they want. I am very fine with that but I do not need to see a bunch of "teddy bear' half naked leather men pinch each others nipples while making major french kisses and crotch grabbing for attention or shock sake. Just don't force it on me.Heteros are sexually *&%% mainstream but you rerely see men and woman blatenly groap each other to orgasm in public half naked or they will be arrested. I mean imagine if people loving animals for marriage was to be a debate because their pets are their one love. It does exist you know. Where is the line drawn?

I believe everyone is entitled to his or her beliefs. Live and let live. Although, "living right" is open to interpretation. However, religious belief should not influence government policy. If homosexuals are the same tax paying citizens as heterosexuals than it should not be acceptable for the state to deny them the same privileges given to some, such as a legally recognized union. Just as it wasn’t acceptable to keep women from voting and minorities from equal education. All that homosexuals want is fairness. Nothing more. But I think your arguments against homosexuality are weak if you are only basing them on the bible. You are using simple, outdated teachings when you must live such a complex world. I’m not saying the bible doesn’t have wisdom but I don’t believe it is the wisest book. It’s probably just the most hotly debated, which is exactly why it and religion shouldn’t be allowed to have any power over society or government. Maybe someday you will see that things are not always so black and white, and morality is about so much more than faith in Christianity and God.

Because you are passing JUDGMENT and the bible stays that is wrong John 8:7 for one. The bible is up to ones interpretation and not always what you think so God is my only JUDGE. So keep your sinful judgement to yourself. Study about the subect and then come back. Start here: http://godmademegay.com
A sin is a sin and you are sinning by judging so we will all be in the same place right??? What did the bible mean when it said isolators since this is the word in the original bible and hebrew interpritation the word was changed. Study it!!!!

You did not read anything from the sight I gave you and you got very snide tooooo. Going Hell!!!!!!!! You are casting stones just as jesus told us not too. Let him who is without sin cast the first stone. And that was said due to an aldulter. The word Isolator was changed to homosexual by the king james interpritor. And how many other times may they have got it wrong. It is a sin to change the word of the lord toooo. Isolators refers to the hetrosexual perverts. Homosexuals were not even known of in those days GIRLLLLY!!!!! So have fun in hell!!

You can disagree that homosexuality is wrong, but don't preach the bible ,and don't say that they aren't living right. They are living their life and you are living your life. Who said homosexuality is equated with race? Being homsexual has nothing to do with ones race. And as far as the constitution that is for everyone's protection, not just straight white people. Being gay and non-white is a whole different world. One you might not know anything about. So until you have been in a situation of someone else's life chill, take a long hard look at yourself. What if it was relative, or aunt, uncle or maybe your child is the love there .or are the chambers of that area closed for all???

It is fine to say you disagree with homosexuality, although your reasonings are a little off. Have you ever read all of Leviticus? That chapter is down-right ridiculous when applied to this day and age. Secondly, we CAN'T get married, but if we could, it wouldn't be fornication for some of us anymore.
The only reason it should be a protected class is because people are discriminated against because of it. Whether or not your or your god agree or disagree with the homosexual lifestyle, here in america we are all supposed to have equal rights and the right to not be discriminated against for any reason, whether it is because of a handicap or who we go home to at night. Homosexuals do not have the same rights as everyone else, that is why we get so defensive.

Why do you feel the need to agree or disagree with something somebody else does and has absolutely no relation to you or your life?

You have mistaken the nature of this controversy. This isn't about your beliefs.

You may believe and say anything you like. It doesn't matter if it is all true or all false.

You may not claim that because of your beliefs, I should have less rights or live as less than equal to you. Your god of murder, rape, conquest, and hate means nothing to me. My God has better understanding of his creation. My god doesn't make rules nobody can follow, kill his son to make forgiveness for those who can't follow the rules, change the rules to fit a new society, then tell people who can't follow the unfollowable rules they will burn in hell for it. That is just not MY god.

In America you have the right to believe what you do. You do not have the right to tell me that your way is better than mine. You do not have the right to tell me or treat me like I am not equal to you.

If you are unhappy with freedom OF religion, there are a number of places where religion is dictated by the government. You may be happier there.

Well your only justification for disagreeing with homosexuality is the Bible. And if you eat shellfish then you're being hypocritical.

Deuteronomy 14:9-10 says:
9 These ye shall eat of all that are in the waters: all that have fins and scales shall ye eat:
10 And whatsoever hath not fins and scales ye may not eat; it is unclean unto you.

Also, a lot of people (read: myself) don't believe in the Bible. So using the Bible as justification for disagreeing with a person's way of life seems to be a way to cover up your bigotry with "God's Word." I don't believe in any parts of the Bible and I never have. I don't believe in God. It has nothing to do with the undesirable content, it has to do with the Bible being illogical.

It is not OK to agree or not agree it is not something to agree with it is not something you have to support it is just something that is. Do you support the Catholic community do you support the African American community? Do you have something against any group well that is fine it is not as though your lack of support will change any thing. Except keep you from associating with some possibly nice people.

I am sorry I didn't mean to sound confrontational or that you have any thing to be defensive about. I was just expressing an opinion. Being bisexual is not something I can change and not something that needs support it is just something about me like the fact that my eyes are brown and that my hair is black. I really do hope that you where not offended by my response.

im just so not gonna go there today
so i will just cut and paste these lil QandA items for you to peruse

The condition of homosexuality:
Nowhere in Scripture is reference made to the condition of homosexuality, only to homosexual acts.

"Aren't you trying to wriggle out of what the Bible clearly says about homosexuality?":
What the Bible says about anything is selective, contradictory and liable to change in interpretation. People do not believe in " what the Bible says". People believe in traditions about what the Bible says. Judeo-Christian tradition certainly is homophobic but whether the words of Jesus are homophobic is another matter. The various Christian theological traditions are so different from one another that they cannot be identical with the words of Jesus. The believer must decide whether the words of Jesus are more important than Christian traditions. Arguing out of Christian traditions is circular.

The story of Sodom (Genesis 19):
The story about the destruction of Sodom is not about homosexuality. It is about the sin of breaching sacred hospitality.

The Old Testament prohibitions:
The Old Testament prohibitions against homosexuality in the Books of Leviticus (chapter 18, v.22; chapter 20 v.13) and Deuteronomy are essentially provisions of the Jewish Law. Those Christians who base their disapproval of homosexuality on them must be prepared to state whether or not they are prepared to keep the other provisions of the Jewish Law.

Ruth and Naomi, David and Jonathan, Jesus and the "Beloved Disciple":
These friendships, as described in Scripture, are not gay relationships. The first two friendships are about the righteousness of choosing those who are elected by God, namely, the Hebrew nation in the case of Ruth, and David in the case of Jonathan. The friendship between Jesus and the "Beloved Disciple" is a symbol of true faith and discipleship.

The Centurion's Servant:
This is one story in which a gay relationship may be mentioned. This is because the word used in Greek in the account given by Luke can mean "boyfriend"', we know that centurions and their personal servants often had sexual relations and it is stated that the centurion was very fond of the servant. If this story does mention a gay relationship, then it confirms that Jesus was less interested in what people did rather than in their faith and love.

Paul's condemnations of Decadence of the Pagan World in his Letter to the Romans, (chapter 1 v. 26-27):
This is the one passage in Scripture that mentions lesbianism. The passage condemns the pagan world for failing to observe the will of God as revealed in creation. It depends, however, on whether you accept Paul's argument that this is what the pagans are doing in the behaviour he describes. If you do not, it adds nothing to Paul's remarks on homosexual behaviour.

Paul's other condemnations of Homosexuality (1 Corinthians 6 v 9):
No-one is sure what the words used in these passages refer to. They could refer to some types of homosexual behavior but it is not certain.

please dont preach things from the bible when it is a very contradictory book

You can disagree all you want - just don't go spreading your hatred and bigotry to other people. Then you foment violence, discrimination and other evils.

Of course, if you were being a true 'christian,' you would love others and not judge them, and 'live right' in that way. But that seems to be beyond the scope of your current powers.

Gay is how God made me - I don't argue with that. Why should you?
