I am not looking to start a fight or for name calling. I also apologize if I hurt anyone’s feelings.

My question is as a faith that holds the "only key" to salvation and a order to spread this "Good News"; is Christianity an arrogant religion? And is this one of the reasons for "Christian Bashing"?

Of course they are.

They claim that their faith makes them sinless (or the equivalent).

It is impossible to be more arrogant or vain than to claim you are perfect.

Unfortunately you will find all sorts of Christians. I do think that there are those that feel above others since they have the truth. The I am going to heaven but all you losers are going to hell and then turn around and laugh about it. That is clearly not what the Bible teaches.

Another form of arrogance comes from those that believed once they are saved they can simply rest in his grace with no action on their part to abide in the Lord.

However despite these reasons I do not believe that the religion is arrogant within itself. God is God simply put and Christianity is the way the truth and the life. It can be easy to become arrogant knowing this. But Jesus taught us how to be humble, especially in his action of cleaning his disciples feet.

I do believe because of the followers of this religion that it can come across as arrogant and this is unfortunate. This can be one of many reasons Christains and Christianity gets bashed all the time. The only way to change this is to pray that God changes their hearts and lets them see the real meaning of the Gospel.

When any person is taught that they are God's chosen people, they tend to get a little bit caught up with themselves. They are taught EVERYTHING else will be destroyed and they will be spared to help God rule heaven. Why wouldn't that go to a person's head? They are taught of a time when free will will no longer exist and every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord. Why wouldn't they feel somewhat superior... they CHOSE to worship while others were forced?

It is certainly one of the reasons for "christian bashing."

NO. I am proud to be a Christian.I am far from arrogant in my faith and in my beliefs of Christianity. The beliefs I was raised with are the same beliefs I have raised my children with. I live for GOD. I'm not perfect, nor is anyone person, but Jesus. However, I live my life as clean and as pure as I possibly can. It's not being arrogant. It's being smart and wise enough to know there is a better place waiting for me. A place with the one and only, Jesus Christ, the son of GOD.

Admittedly, many so-called 'Christians' are.

Perhaps such arrogance emanates from the origins of ORGANIZED RELIGION or what has become the "Church of Man", which insitituted the doctrine that "IF YOU DO NOT BELONG to this/that church, then you are forever damned into perdition!"

Such teaching/s have been indoctrinated into the mindsets of its members who have been BLINDLY MISLED into believing such FALSEHOOD that is has become their own preconceived notion of what "truth" is to them...

That would be a logical explanation as to the RESENTMENT of many victims, and the backlash effect on such a FALSE DOCTRINE by those who are rubbed the wrong way.

However, we must also consider that NOT ALL CHRISTIANS are that way or ARE BLIND since many have also seen the Light that shines on the errors of her ways and exposes such FALSE DOCTRINES among the plethora of other LIES...

Peace be with you!

All faith is ultimately rooted in arrogance. In order to believe that you can have knowledge without the commensurate experience and evidence, you first have to believe there is something special about yourself that allows that to happen.

All I know for sure is that we are to be meek and humble of heart. We do believe we need to follow Jesus command to spread the Good News of His Kingdom to all the ends of the earth and that is what we try to do, but we must do it in the spirit of love as Jesus did.
