Many people are completely bored in Church, but they feel obligated to go anyway.

Have you ever been to a high catholic mass? ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ It is boring and drawn out. The priest speaks in monotone and the music is almost dirge like. The High mass can last upto 1 1/2 hours long depending on the size of he congregation. Another reason is the fact that many people party on Sat night get home late and have to get up at 6 or 8 to go to church so they are just tired. My father has fallen asleep many times and he is an elder at his church LOL.

Cause church is a joke, just another man's interpretation of what happened, why would I want to go listen to that, if I went to church still I'd fall asleep too... what a joke

I agree with the first answer, a lot of people feel obligated to go to church but are bored with the message.

Perhaps it is the way the preacher preaches...maybe they aren't very good.

On the other hand, perhaps the people aren't really Christians. Churches are filled with non-Christians...they have got to be bored!!

i had to go to church with my school. at 8 am.

this was catholic school of course.

i slept because there was nothing new in the mass. i had the whole thing memorized and would mouth all the words along with the priest. when that got old, i slept. then when that got old, i'd bring reading material. which i of course had to hide from the sister who was watching me with her beady little eyes.
